Although each person has different preferences, this “Jeopardy!” guest host is running away with the title as the best host yet.

The Hunt for a Host

Since the unfortunate death of Alex Trebek in November of 2020, the game show has been trying to land on a new person to host Jeopardy!

Although no one will be able to replace the beloved host of more than 36 years, NBC producers have created a star-studded list of men and women to serve two-week stints as guest host. It is their hope that they can find someone who will have a lasting effect on “Jeopardy!.”

“Let’s make sure we get someone we are going to feel even better about in a decade than we do this year,” says Mike Richards, executive producer and one of the previous guest hosts on “Jeopardy!.”

TV Line held a vote on Twitter as to who the current front runner is for the full-time position as host.

With only three hosts so far, Ken Jennings is the obvious favorite. He is currently in the lead with 40.19 percent of the vote. Mike Richards is in second place with 32.25 percent. Katie Couric, who finished up her two weeks yesterday, has 7 percent of the vote.

The other 20.56 percent has gone toward an option that says, “Undecided. Gonna wait and see how the other guest hosts do.”

Probably a smart idea because the guest list is nothing to overlook.

Dr. Mehmet Oz of the Dr. Oz Show will be next to take the stage. His reign as “Jeopardy!” host begins on Monday, March 22.

In addition, after Dr. Oz, the list of “Jeopardy!” hosts continues. It will include NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, “60 Minutes’” Bill Whitaker, “Big Bang Theory” actress and neuroscientist Mayim Bialik, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, neurosurgeon, medical reporter, and writer, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and the “Today Show’s” Savannah Guthrie.

Ken Jennings was a contestant on the show prior to serving as host. Actually, he wasn’t just a contestant. He was a champion. The champion, holding the record for winning 74 games and taking home more than $2.5 million.

Which ‘Jeopardy!’ Host has Raised the Most Money for Charity

However, “Jeopardy!” has vowed to match the total winning from the contestants during the two-week stint to go toward the charity of each host’s choosing.

Katie Couric currently is leading the race with more than $200,000 raised for Stand Up to Cancer.

“This has been an extraordinary experience for me,” Couric said on Monday’s episode. “It has made me respect Alex Trebek even more than I already did. Hosting this show is hard, and the fact that he did this while he was fighting pancreatic cancer, well, that was downright Herculean. I am so proud to help carry on his legacy and raise money for pancreatic cancer research.”

We are excited to see what is to come for Jeopardy! and will be glued to our TV screens to see how each celebrity does.
