Most fans agree that Jeopardy! is a great escape from the world. For a half-hour at a time, you can tune in and forget about everything else that’s going on in the world. There are no current events or reminders of your personal strife. Instead, it’s pure trivia. Viewers can learn a litany of new things while matching wits with the contestants on the show as well as whoever happens to be in the room. At the same time, viewers can imagine what they would do with their winnings from the show. All in all, watching the iconic quiz show is a fairly relaxing evening activity.

However, Buzzy Cohen sees things a little differently. He should know. Buzzy had a nine-game winning streak back in 2016. Then, he came back and won the Tournament of Champions in 2017 and took home a quarter of a million dollars. So, he has been on Jeopardy! quite a few times. Starting Monday, Cohen will guest-host this year’s Tournament of Champions.

The official Jeopardy! Twitter account shared an interview with the future guest-host with their followers earlier today. During that short video, Cohen says that being on the quiz show is anything but relaxing. In fact, it’s downright stressful. Furthermore, he has a whole different reaction to the iconic theme music after being on the show so many times.

Buzzy Cohen on Jeopardy!

Buzzy Cohen can tell one thing about a person who by how they watch Jeopardy!

“I joke with people that anybody who watches Jeopardy! for comfort clearly hasn’t been on the stage. Because, the second you hear that music, your blood pressure starts rising and you sit up a little stiffer.”

Jeopardy! wasn’t all stress and high blood pressure for Buzzy Cohen, though. In fact, he is known for having a great time on the show. The future guest host cracked jokes with Trebek during his original winning streak. When he came back for the Tournament of Champions, he continued that tradition. In the video, you can hear Trebek saying that the Tournament featuring Cohen was the most fun he had had on the show.

The Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions kicks off Monday and will run until May 28th. Fifteen previous champions will come together to compete for the grand prize of a quarter of a million dollars. The show will match that amount and donate it to the Hope of the Valley Trebek Center for Homelessness.
