She will continue in the guest hosting position for the remainder of the week with her final episode coming Friday.

Her primary job was to cover ongoing legal trials across the country and report on them during NBC newscasts. Now, nearly 14 years later she is a household name for her work on “Today.”

On Tuesday, Savannah Guthrie took a moment from “Jeopardy!” to wish one of her co-workers a very special birthday. Carson Daly, Guthrie’s co-worker for several years now, is turning 48-years-old today. Guthrie took to social media to wish him a wonderful birthday and to share a few nice words about her friend and co-worker.

“If there were Emmys for friendship, he would have a room full,” Guthrie says in her social media post. “Carson Daly – happy birthday!”

Several of the “Jeopardy” guest host’s social media followers also chime in with their own birthday wishes for Carson Daly. The Santa Monica, California native became a “Today” co-host only a few years ago. Before that promotion, he began hosting another NBC hit show, “The Voice,” in 2011. He and Guthrie have become great friends since both joined NBC.

Each of the “Jeopardy!” guest hosts are raising money for the charity of their choice. Guthrie is collecting funds for “The Bowery Mission,” an organization that assists New York’s homeless population.

Guthrie will wrap up her tenure this Friday with her final episode. Dr. Sanjay Gupta will take the hosting reigns the following Monday and will be followed by journalist George Stephanopoulos.
