Katie Couric, of course, is one of the most recognizable faces in America. She is an award-winning journalist in addition to working as a television host at all three of the big television networks (NBC, CBS, and ABC) at various points in her career. However, most people know her from her most popular role as a co-host of the Today show.

However, the television Hall of Famer will now be making a splash in a new television field as a game show host. And not just any game show, but the most popular, longest-running TV game show in history.

Katie Couric will grace our television screens as the guest host on Jeopardy! for a whole two weeks. She will serve in the role from March 8 to March 19. The show’s executive director, Mike Richards, said that the show will continue to utilize a mix of rotating hosts in the wake of the passing of long-time host Alex Trebek.

“Alex was a legend, revered by all of us,” Richards said. “I want to thank our guest hosts, who will not only help all of us celebrate his great legacy, but also bring their own touch to the show.”

Meanwhile, Couric says that it is an honor and a thrill to help the show continue operating after Trebek’s death.

“It is such a thrill to be here guest hosting a show I’ve watched for years, and a real honor to help as we recover after Alex,” Katie Couric said in a statement.

Katie Couric Says That Hosting Jeopardy Is an ‘Honor’

When Katie Couric takes the Jeopardy! stage on Monday evening, she will make history as the show’s first-ever female host. It will no doubt be a special moment for her, especially as the show continues to move on after the death of Alex Trebek.

“It is such a thrill to be here guest hosting a show I’ve watched for years, and a real honor to help as we recover after Alex,” she said.

Couric will host the show for two weeks following two weeks of Richards hosting. Before him, the Jeopardy! GOAT Ken Jennings hosted the show for six weeks.

Following Couric’s tenure as host, the show will turn to Dr. Oz on March 22, and then to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers after that.
