Ken Jennings isn’t just a former “Jeopardy!” guest host and winningest contestant of all time, but he’s a dad too. He’s a dad that’s dealing with teenage kids.
Jennings posts to Twitter one of his recent text message exchanges with his teenagers. He captions it, “Someday my teenagers will move out and all these amazing memories will be lost like tears in rain.”
Ken Jennings seemingly is going somewhere and is waiting for his kids to join him in the car. The screen capture of the text messages goes like this.
Jennings writes, “We’re in the car.” The teen replies, “I hope its nice there.”
Apparently, the teen kid doesn’t want to go with his dad to whatever destination they have planned. Or, this teenager is just being a typical teenager with a snarky response.
Fans and followers are filling the comments of Ken Jennings’ tweet.
“the bladerunner reference is breaking my heart,” writes one person.
“Wow good to know the next generation will be funnier than the last,” comments this follower.
“What is PARENTHOOD (2021)?” this poster jokes.
Additional comments ask Jennings to return to “Jeopardy!” as a full time host.
Ken Jennings Completes Guest Host Run, Will He Be Back
Fans of “Jeopardy!” and Jennings watched his tenure as the first guest host of the game show come to an end last week (Feb. 19). However, they’re not ready to bid him goodbye.
Ken Jennings shared a heartfelt post about his time as the quiz show’s commander, and many replied that they think the winningest contestant should permanently fill the role.
“Don’t know if you want the job, but if so, I hope the folks at Jeopardy see that you’re the fella for the job,” another fan shares in response. “Impossible shoes to fill, but it’s clear that you’d be a worthy successor. Rooting for you!”
“You are awesome Ken. I’m sure Alex is so proud of the job you’ve done. I hope in the end you will be the new permanent host,” this poster writes. “Your love of and (commitment) to the game shows and you belong there. Thanks for all.”
‘Jeopardy!’ Executive Producer, Mike Richards, Now Hosting
Last night (Feb. 22) the executive producer of both “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune” took the game show set for the first time as a guest host. Mike Richards welcomed the contestants and also addressed his position as fill-in host in the welcome.
Richards told everyone that he is filling in as a temporary host because of the outbreak of COVID-19 in California. Some of the guest hosts that are on list didn’t feel comfortable spending time in the state. Richards said that he doesn’t blame them.
Then the executive producer also says that they asked Ken Jennings to stay and host longer, but he has his game show obligation, “The Chase.”
Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers is on the list to join the show, as well as veteran journalist Katie Couric. She will be the first woman to host the game show. “Big Bang Theory’s” Mayim Bialik will be second. Award-winning journalist Bill Whitaker is also on the list.
More recently announced as guest hosts are Savannah Guthrie, Anderson Cooper, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and Dr. Mehmet Oz. But first, executive producer of “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” Mike Richards, will be filling in from Feb. 22 to March 5.
