Though the hit quiz show has undergone numerous changes in the past year, some things about Jeopardy! will never change.

Since the passing of legendary host Alex Trebek late last year, the show has had a rotating door behind the host’s lectern. Changes have not stopped Jeopardy! from completing its core mission, however, and the show doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

At its heart, Jeopardy! is a competition among intellectual titans that provides thrilling victories and crushing defeats. Beyond the competition, however, Jeopardy! is much more than just a game. The game show provides and entertainment and education to the public unlike any other shows coming before it. Yesterday’s (Monday) episode gave us a perfect example of what makes Jeopardy! must-see television. Jeopardy! officials took a clue from Monday’s matchup to social media to see how many fans came up with the correct answer. The tweet also provides an extra hint to help out social media users and Jeopardy! fans.

“‘Stop stealing my theatrical sound effect!'” the Monday evening social media post proclaims. “Doesn’t have quite the same ring, does it?”

The tweet then goes on to provide the same clue that was given to contestants by current Jeopardy! host, Anderson Cooper. Think you know the answer?

“When his sound effect method was copied in a staging of ‘McBeth,’ John Dennis accused perpetrators of this, now an idiom,” the clues states.

“What is ‘stealing my thunder?'” is the correct answer to the Jeopardy! clue. Several social media users were quickly able to identify the correct response. While they didn’t win a prize, there is great satisfaction in solving the show’s clues for at-home players.

‘Jeopardy!’ Forging Forward With Celebrity Hosts

Cooper, a journalist and news anchor by trade, will continue serving as the Jeopardy! guest through the remainder of the week. His final episode will air this Friday, with fellows journalist Bill Whitaker waiting in the on-deck circle. Whitaker will also get two weeks as guest host before handing off to former Jeopardy! contestant Buzzy Cohen. The former Tournament of Champions winner will handle this year’s Tournament of Champions from behind the host’s podium. Actress Mayim Bialik will assume the role at the conclusion of the tournament.

Cooper has drawn positive reviews for his performance as host, appearing to be a natural behind the lectern. Jeopardy! officials have not said when they might choose a permanent host. They recently put out a crop of new hosts that will finish out the year. The list includes fan-favorite LeVar Burton, sports announcer Joe Buck and news broadcaster Robin Roberts.
