For those expecting Matt Amodio to lose at Jeopardy! any time soon, think again. He just set a personal best for money won in a single game. He was able to rack up $83,000 in his 34th straight win.

It just seems like he can do no wrong. He did his best James Holzhauer impression and won the big bucks tonight. Not bad for half an hour of work, huh? The current champion has people thinking he could make a run at Ken Jennings’ record. However, that is still 40-games away.

For now, Amodio is just taking Jeopardy! one game at a time. He is going to have a long road ahead of him if he expects to take down the GOAT, Jennings. In fact, he isn’t even halfway there. He has been a great champion, and even a bit controversial. There are some fans that can’t wait to watch him lose, and others that hope he wins 100 games.

This is great for the show. Having a star is always good no matter what the game is. Basketball, football, Jeopardy! competition thrives off of having a figurehead. However, he has a lot of work to do to take the top spot in the history books.

As for Amodio, he can’t wait to beat the records Jennings holds. He is a big fan and cannot wait to meet him eventually. With Jennings expected to take over hosting duties for part of this year, there is a good chance he is going to get very familiar with the former champ.

$83,000 is a lot of money. To earn that while answering a few trivia questions, that is exceptional. It takes a lot to earn that much money in a single game.

Matt Amodio Heads into Rare Territory

At this point, Matt Amodio is in waters only Ken Jennings has been in. No one besides the GOAT has won more games than the current Jeopardy! champion. He passed up Holzhauer at the end of last week with his 33rd win. That put him one game above Holzhauer for second all-time.

One doesn’t plan to spend multiple months on a trivia game show, but that’s what has happened with Amodio. When you have a good thing going, you try to keep it going. It is amazing to watch someone take down so many other competitors.

Through it all, the multiple hosts, the controversy, the haters online, Amodio has come out on the other side a champion. As he tries to reach his 40th win, which could happen next week, fans are eagerly waiting. Can he climb his way to the top of the Jeopardy! mountain? Only time will tell.
