Former Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik finished her guest host run on Jeopardy! last week but fell short at attracting more viewers to the show. She reportedly secured the second-lowest rating so far as Jeopardy! guest host.

According to ShowBiz411, Mayim Bialik tied with Dr. Oz for the second-lowest rating, pulling in 4.9 million viewers, which barely beat Anderson Cooper’s 4.8 million views. Bialik, who is known for her roles on Big Bang Theory and Blossom, has a Ph. D. from UCLA, completed her two-week run as Jeopardy! host last Friday.

Despite the low rating, Mayim Bialik’s fans showed her some love on social media by tweeting various words of encouragement. “You totally slayed it, Mayim! I look forward to seeing you host every night; just outstanding. I know you made Alex, your boys, and all us Jeopardy!-lovers proud. I’m so sad to see you go.” Another also shared, “You have been amazing Mayim. They need to give you the role permanently. I’m so proud of you and I’m sure Alex is too. [You’re] my favorite person ever. I absolutely love you.”

Mayim Is Honored to be ‘Jeopardy!’ Guest Host

Prior to making her appearance as guest host of Jeopardy! Mayim Bialik admitted to being a fan of the game show for a long time. On her final hosting evening, Bialik took to Twitter to share an emotional video of her time on the long-running show’s stage.

“From being a contestant on Jeopardy (well kinda…) to guest hosting on Jeopardy this is truly been a dream come true,” Bialik beams in the post. “I hope I made Alex Trek proud.”

Mayim Bialik also saw the long-running show give the National Alliance of Mental $194,851 as part of her guest-hosting duties.

During a recent interview with Forbes, Mayim Bialik spoke about the importance of mental health education and why it’s needed especially now. “To be honest, 2020 was a beast of a year, and my partner Jonathan [Cohen] and I have a shared passion for mental illness and mental illness education,” the actress states.“So many more people have either occurrences of mental health challenges or they were experiencing intense anxiety for the first time in their life.”

What’s Next For Bialik?

Mayim Bialik is currently working on her new show Call Me Kat, which is based on the British sitcom Miranda by Miranda Hart. The new show follows a 39-year-old single woman named Kat who notably struggles every day against society and her mother in order to prove she can not have everything she wants but still can be happy. She ends up ditching her job as a professor at the University of Louisville and uses money from her parents, originally set aside for her wedding, to open a cat cafe.

Bialik’s Call Me Kat premiered on January 3rd. Although the show has an approval rating of 21% on Rotten Tomatoes and an average rating of 4.8/10, it was renewed for a second in May 2021.
