There are many fans of “Jeopardy!” who are not very happy with the popular quiz show these days. And, they are making their voices heard on social media.

Many of them were initially upset with the news that Mike Richards had been selected as the show’s full-time host for its syndicated episodes. Then, there was anger following Richards’ decision to step down from that position over controversial statements he made in the past. Richards is also the show’s executive producer.

Some of the anger and frustration of “Jeopardy!” fans really bubbled to the service when they commented about Mike Richards in a social media post that had nothing to do with him. According to PopCulture, the show shared information about a new special that will honor the late Alex Trebek. He hosted the show for decades until his death from cancer in November 2020.

After Trebek’s passing, several guest hosts were tasked with leading the show until a permanent replacement could be named. Eventually, it was Richards who was chosen. Then he stepped down. Also, actress Mayim Bialik was chosen to host “Jeopardy!” tournaments.

It seems like fans are not in the mood to talk about the beloved Alex Trebek. Instead, they had a lot to say about Mike Richards. They did so in response to a post that showed Trebek during a visit to Machu Picchu.

‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Express Disapproval of Mike Richards, Praise Alex Trebek in Response to Tweet by Show

Here are a few examples of what “Jeopardy!” fans had to say.

“I just wanted to say something with sincerity. I have been a Jeopardy fan for years! … truly do not understand how the guy who was supposed to oversee getting a new host ended up getting the job. Its’ (sic) truly bizarre. Let’s right this wrong and go with Ken, LaVar (sic) etc.,” @_myfriendryan shared on Twitter.

One fan wanted to see an investigation into Mike Richards’ alleged behavior take place. “Why won’t @jeopardy or @SonyPictures comment on the @ADL’s call for an investigation into Mike Richards’ bigoted comments?”@mickeyfoxboro said referring to the Anti-Defamation League’s opinion.

Another fan asked “Jeopardy!” to right the wrongs some fans believe have taken place.

One fan praised Trebek in their response to the “Jeopardy!” tweet. “We realize today with the announcement about Richards just how good a person Alex Trebek was. Never a controversy, bad word or deed! Alex was truly a Saint and you will be hard-pressed to find a man big enough to fit his shoes Good luck #Jeopardy #JeopardyHost #jeopardyinjeopardy,” @CarelessGreek shared.

Other fans shared their thoughts regarding who the permanent host of “Jeopardy!’ should be. Many voiced their desire to see LeVar Burton get the job. Others preferred Bialik, Ken Jennings, and Aaron Rodgers. One fan offered the idea of a competition between potential hosts to see who lands the job.

“@Jeopardy let’s why don’t we have a game within a game and have the potential hosts battle for dominance and have fans vote people off… in the form of a question of course,” @Douggernaught23 said.
