Farewell, Mayim Bialik. Welcome to “Jeopardy!,” Savannah Guthrie.

Monday evening, the 49-year old “Today” co-host takes over the guest-hosting role on “Jeopardy!” And it looks like she can hardly wait.

Guthrie posted a series of pictures from the time she spent on the “Jeopardy!” set ahead of her debut.

“It really happened! and now it is going to air! So excited to join @jeopardy for the next two weeks! Tune into @todayshow for a behind the scenes look!” She wrote.

Guthrie is no stranger to the spotlight. For the last 10 years, she has been a co-anchor on NBC’s “Today.” She has developed skills during this time that should translate well to the “Jeopardy!” format. Although, she does admit that hosting the show had its own unique challenges.

“Jeopardy is extremely precise. A game is going on, and it has to be done with integrity. You can’t mess up. For me, that added an extra level of stress,” She said during her exclusive interview with the show.

And while she never had the privilege of meeting late host Alex Trebek, Guthrie fully understands that she is being held to an extremely high standard.

“I think what I tried to do is I tried to approach it like I approach my job, which is to be prepared. To study hard, to care a lot, to work hard. I think that’s what Alex Trebek did every day,” Guthrie said in the interview. “It seems to me he never slacked off, it never got easy for him. He always brought his A-game, and that’s the spirit I was trying to emulate.”

Savannah Guthrie has No Interest in Competing for the Permanent ‘Jeopardy!’ Job

Every two weeks, a couple of “Jeopardy!” fans out there are particularly interested in the new guest host. Two of them are Aaron Rodgers and LeVar Burton.

Rodgers took his turn at the podium a few months ago, and Burton is set to take the reigns later this summer. Both of them have made abundantly clear their aspirations of becoming the next permanent host of “Jeopardy!”

Good thing for them, Savannah Guthrie is happy with her job on “Today.” That’s one less competitor to worry about.

“I was so nervous because I really just wanted to show how much respect I have for ‘Jeopardy!’ and Alex – who is a legend and an icon for a reason,” Guthrie told People. “He’s the maestro. And I know those ‘Jeopardy!’ fans are picky. But I have to say, I’m just the fill-in so don’t worry! I’m doing a couple of weeks. I loved it. I had so much fun, but I have a day job.”
