The “Jeopardy!” Tournament of Champions finals are upon us. We’ve seen three contestants battle their way into position for a chance to win $250,000. And Friday night, one will emerge with the victory. The high stakes beg the question… how do the contestants prepare for such a challenge? They clearly put in plenty of study time. But this kind of effort requires plenty of brain fuel.

The “Jeopardy!” finalists shared some of their favorites recipes ahead of their big moment. The game show’s Twitter account posted them recently. And from marionberry pie to stuffed mushrooms, the dishes have our mouths watering.

It appears that the contestants decided to go with some local delicacies, as each recipe is tagged with their respective home areas.

The ‘Jeopardy!’ Finalists and Their Fuel

Veronica Vichit-Vadakan, who defeated divisive contestant Ryan Bilger in the semifinals to claim her spot, has a bit of a sweet tooth. She shared a recipe for “Oregon’s Original Marionberry Pie.” The marionberry is a breed of blackberry developed in the mid-twentieth century. And apparently, Oregonians go crazy for them. Though, for those of us who don’t have access to the specific berry, Veronica says that regular blackberries work just fine too.

Next up is Jennifer Quail. She bested one of the Tournament’s favorites in Jason Zuffranieri to take her place among the finalists. And she knows what she’s talking about when it comes to taste. We’re willing to bet she has a pretty refined palate considering she’s a wine tasting consultant. She shared a recipe for “The Munch-y Meatball.” It’s a straightforward recipe, but it looks like a delicious addition to any appetizer table.

Finally, we arrive at Sam Kavanaugh. The teacher from Minnesota went the savory route. But for all of the vegetarians out there, his recipe may be for you. He shared his take on “Grilled Minnesota Wild Rice Stuffed Mushrooms.” And we have to say, the combination of maple syrup and parmesan cheese has us intrigued.

The Tournament of Champions Finals Get Going on Thursday

After a week and a half of intense competition, the last thing on our contestants’ minds is food. “Jeopardy!” guest host Buzzy Cohen built the hype in a teaser video posted to Instagram recently.

“I’m here to win this thing,” said Jennifer Quail.

“We can go toe-to-toe, and it might fall my, and it might not fall my way, but it’s going to be fun regardless,” said Sam Kavanaugh.

Most predictions are completely out the window at this point, and the finals promise to deliver some of the best trivia game show performances to date.
