‘Jeopardy!’: Upcoming Guest Host George Stephanopoulos Opens Up About His Charity of Choice

Jeopardy! took a major loss in November of 2020 when Alex Trebek passed away. Since then, they have had a series of guest hosts. The list is long and full of some of the biggest names in sports, television, and Jeopardy! history. For instance, Ken Jennings, Katie Couric, and Aaron Rodgers have all stepped up to the legendary lectern. Most recently, Dr. Sanjay Gupta filled the slot. His stint ended last week and the fans loved him. Tomorrow, George Stephanopoulos will step up the lectern to try his hand at hosting America’s favorite quiz show.

George Stephanopoulos is no stranger to television. He has graced the small screen for nearly twenty years. Currently, he shares the Good Morning America set with Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts. He is also the host of ABC’s Sunday morning news program This Week. Before that, he was the Chief Anchor at ABC News from 2014 until earlier this year. He is still on ABC news as well as the other two programs. However, he only covers weekends now.

With George Stephanopoulos’ stint as guest-host right around the corner, the Jeopardy! crew staged an interview with him. They wanted the audience to get to know a little about the man who will stand behind the show’s lectern for the next two weeks. During that interview, he discussed several things including what advice he got before his hosting stint and what Jeopardy! means to him. At one point he talked at length about his chosen charity.

George Stephanopoulos on His Chosen Chartiy

During the interview, the Jeopardy! crew asked George Stephanopoulos to talk about his charity. The future guest-host was more than happy to do so. He said that he was representing Share our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. He has faith in the charity because he knows the people who run it. Billy and Debbie Shore have helmed the charity for over twenty years. At the same time, they are both close friends of Stephanopoulos. So, he knows that any money that comes in will be spent correctly. Furthermore, the No Kid Hungry campaign has a great goal. About this, he said, “We want to make sure that every kid in America doesn’t go to bed hungry and doesn’t wake up hungry.”

George Stephanopoulos said that it isn’t just something to strive for. He said it was an attainable goal. “It’s not only a simple goal, it’s a goal that can be met,” Stephanopoulos said. He also knows that his time as Jeopardy!’s guest-host will help the charity. About this, he said, “We can make progress on this. They’re doing it every day. I know the fact that we talked about it on Jeopardy!, the fact that those contestants raise so much money for that campaign is going to make a big difference. I’m incredibly grateful for that.”
