Who will be this week’s guest host for “Jeopardy!”? None other than the talented Savannah Guthrie.

NBC News chief legal correspondent and “TODAY” show co-host Savannah Guthrie will return to the “Jeopardy!” stage for her second week behind the coveted podium. This will be her last week, so make sure you tune in while you still can!

After just one week of guest hosting, Savannah Guthrie raked in a sizable amount of money for the charity of her choosing. The lucky cause is the Bowery Mission, which works with those who face homeless and other struggling New York City residents. The Bowery Mission also looks to assist the city’s youth.

On Friday, “Jeopardy!” posted an update on how much Guthrie has raised so far in just a single week.

“$105,801 raised so far for The @BoweryMission during @SavannahGuthrie’s first week on Jeopardy!”

So far, the show has raised more than $1,694,976 in donations from all the guest hosts that have been featured on the show. If there’s any way to honor the late and beloved Alex Trebek’s legacy, it’s by making an impact in places that need it.

Milestones

Furthermore, Savannah Guthrie’s “Jeopardy!” guest-hosting gig coincides a week late with another significant milestone in her professional career. On June 7, Guthrie celebrated ten years on NBC, giving her one of the longest careers on the morning broadcast.

Guthrie comes in with ten years on the show. That puts her behind Matt Lauer, who was on the show for 20 years and ten months, another former Jeopardy host, Katie Couric, who has been on the show for 15 years, Bryant Gumbel for 15 years, and Jane Pauley for 13 years.

‘Jeopardy!’ Guest Hosts

According to the “Jeopardy!” website, the next guest host will be Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent. He will be featured on the hit game show from June 28 until July 9. After him, ABC’s “Good Morning America” co-Anchor, George Stephanopoulos, will take the stage from July 12 until July 16.

Savannah Guthrie is the ninth A-list celebrity to be featured on the show. Although fans have welcomed her appearance and said she has done a great job, a few have sour tastes in their mouths after noting that she is uninterested in a permanent position on “Jeopardy!”.

So, who will make the final cut and be “Jeopardy!’s” go-to host for years to come? Since Trebek’s death in November, the show is trying celebrities from various platforms to see who is a good fit. So far, the front runner seems to be Jeopardy royalty, Ken Jennings. Jennings was the first to be named guest host after Trebek’s death.

However, with so many talented names to go, it’s hard to predict who “Jeopardy!” will choose. But the decision is projected to come later this year.
