Jessie James Decker is no stranger to online trolls and body shaming, but she continues to carry herself with grace—and she’s not going to let crazy body standards get her down. This week the singer and songwriter took an impromptu trip to the Gulf of Mexico with her husband, former NFL star Eric Decker, following the release of her newest song.
While she was there, she posted a stunning picture of herself in a bikini. And while it probably goes without saying, we’ll say it anyway. We’ll never know how anyone ever thought the 33-year-old chart-topper looked “terrible.”
Jessie James Decker Hits the Beach
Decker released her new single Should Have Known Better on August 20th. And to celebrate, she took her family to the Gulf of Mexico. While she was there, the songstress posted a sunny waterside photo on Instagram. And in the post, she’s all smiles.
“Eric wanted to celebrate my new song coming out, so he said let’s go down to the gulf and enjoy some sunshine, family, food, and beach time,” she captioned.
The proud mom of three is wearing a multi-colored two-piece that gave one commenter “Lisa Frank vibes.” In the photo, Decker is looking fit as ever. And we’re not the only ones who noticed.
“You guys are GOALS! How often do you both work out?” asked a fan. Jessie James Decker replied with “3-5 days a week! Depending on the week schedule. Try to be active every day if possible.”
And a few of her fans touched on her recent encounter with body shamers.
“Idk how anyone could hate on you, you’re literally in perfect shape!” one person wrote.
Decker responded to the comment by saying, “It was hurtful. It was photos and videos right after our Italy Greece trip where I just wanted to live life and eat and drink wine and enjoy myself and yeah I gained happy lbs!! But it was like damn, really gonna point that out?” she replied. “But the moral of the story for me is to not let what ppl say get to me anymore as long as you feel good and happy in your skin that’s all that matters.”
Jessie James Decker Responds to Body-Shaming Comments
Decker’s struggle with body shaming made headlines last month after the singer and songwriter came across some hurtful Reddit threads.
Jessie James Decker posted an emotional Instagram story after she stumbled upon the thread. The country singer said, “they’re talking about, apparently, how fat I’ve gotten, and how boxy and how terrible my body looks.”
“It’s pretty awful, and I just can’t believe this is still happening in the world, like that people are doing this,” she continued.
But it didn’t long for Decker to fire back. The next day, she posted a bikini-clad photo of herself—because she wasn’t going to let the trolls get her down.
“#cheers,” she captioned as she showed off her healthy and muscular body.
