Former “19 Kids and Counting” star Jill Duggar Dillard is celebrating her anniversary. She shared a sweet post with her husband Derick for seven years together.
Jill Duggar has stepped away from the controversy regarding her family and brother Josh. Instead, she’s focused on her own family and being with her husband and children. In a series of photos, Duggar shared a throwback to her wedding. Both she and Derick Dillard were happy newly-weds seven years ago and remain happy together ever since.
She thanked Derick for always being by her side. Given all the turmoil within her family earlier this year, Jill depended on Derick as her rock more than ever.
“7 years ago today we said ‘I do’ and became husband and wife! *swipe to see pics” she captioned the post. “@derickdillard I could’ve never imagined at the time all we’d face together and where we’d be now, but I’m forever grateful for you always by my side!” she captioned the post.
She continued, “Thank you for being my man and loving and leading through thick and thin! You’re my bestie for the restie!”
Jill Duggar on Her Love For Her Husband
But Jill Duggar Dillard didn’t just stop there. She also shared a cute video of herself and her husband on her Instagram Story. They continued their yearly tradition of finding symbols associated with their anniversary. There’s a different symbol for each year they’ve been together.
Both Jill and Derick have two children” Israel David and Samuel Scott. The couple recently celebrated Father’s Day as a family. In their search for their seventh-anniversary symbol, Duggar and Derick discovered that couples give each other copper and wool for the anniversary.
Derick came to his wife’s defense earlier this year. Jill’s brother Josh was charged with possessing child pornography, creating a media whirlwind around the family. As a result, fans began to focus on the family’s spin-off “Counting On.” They questioned if the show was just a rebranding after past allegations of Josh sexually assaulting women caused “19 Kids and Counting” to end.
Initially, the show was supposed to focus on Jill Duggar and her sister Jessa. But Derick revealed that the show changed behind the scenes. Since then, both Jill and Derick have distanced themselves from the show.
“Yes, that’s exactly what they called it — a rebranding. Same business structure as 19K&C (I.e., one person makes the decisions for all and one person got paid), but it would be ‘rebranded’ to make people think it was different,” tweeted Derick at the time. “We pushed back often, and we were threatened often.”
Quitting the show, they’ve been more focused on their own family and happiness instead.
