Earlier today, Jimmy Buffett reached out to his Twitter followers to help solve a mystery. The “Margaritaville” singer posted several onstage photos from, he thinks, 1976. They’re great photos, but the problem is, Buffett has no idea who took them. He has asked his fans to help him identify the photographer.

Jimmy Buffett Reaches Out to Fans

Buffett currently has almost 600K followers on Twitter. He hopes that one of those followers will see these throwback convert photos and be able to identify the photographer. Maybe he will be especially fortunate and the photographer will be one of those thousands of followers.

It didn’t take long for his fans to solve the mystery. Twitter user and Jimmy Buffett fan Mark Galus posted a link to a “Keyes Weekly” article that featured one of the photos in Buffett’s tweet.

Looking through the link shared by @MarkGalus, it seems that Buffett has the answer to his question. If only he would have had Twitter when he was searching for that lost shaker of salt. It would have made things much easier.

Fun Fact About the Photos

In the “Keys Weekly” article one of those pictures that Buffett shared is credited to Lynn Auerback and Buffett was correct about the year. They are performance photos from ’76. During that time he was on the “Pink Crustacean Tour”. It was his second year playing with his Coral Reefer Band. At this point in his career, Jimmy was still an opening act on many of his dates.

During the tour, he and his band shared the stage with Jerry Jeff Walker, The Charlie Daniels Band, Heart, The Pure Prairie League, and several others.

Jimmy Buffett has come a long way from being an opening act. He has several hits under his belt and is the owner of restaurants and resorts. He did all that by riding his own wave through the years.
