Joe Biden Presidential Campaign Releases Ad Featuring Rapper Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’

“Lose Yourself” by Eminem is now an anthem for Joe Biden’s presidential campaign ad.

The Joe Biden Ad

The rapper tweeted out the ad and voiced his support for the Democratic candidate. “One opportunity… #Vote,” he wrote.

The ad begins with the Biden and Harris bus driving down the road before showing people’s everyday lives and jobs. The black and white video ends with the word vote. “Lose Yourself” is off of his album 8 Mile and the ad itself released just one day before the presidential election on November 3.

This marks the first time that Eminem has let a politician use one of his songs in any manner. He also seemingly endorsed both Biden and Harris with the move.

Eminem and Politics

Eminem has always been outspoken about politics, usually the ones that he disagrees with. He wrote his 2004 hit, “Mosh” about President George W. Bush. Secondly, he rapped about President Donald Trump on numerous occasions. The first being in his song “Framed” off of his 2017 record, Revival. He also did the freestyle rap during the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards.

“That’s an awfully hot coffee pot/ Should I drop it on Donald Trump? Probably not/ But that’s all I got ’til I come up with a solid plot,” he freestyled. Additionally, he rapped, “Donald Duck’s on, there’s a Tonka Truck in the yard/ But dog, how the fuck is Ivanka Trump in the trunk of my car?”

According to numerous reports, Eminem and his team had to meet with the Secret Service in January of 2018. The meeting was in regards to his lyrics about Trump after a concerned citizen who heard the song before it was released, tipped off the government. Later on, it turned out that the tipster was actually a TMZ employee.

“The Ringer,” featured on his subsequent album, Kamikaze, speaks about his run-in with the Secret Service.“Cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service/To meet in person to see if I really think of hurting him.”
