John Travolta’s Daughter Ella Shares New Song She’s Been Working On

Musicality certainly runs in the Travolta family. This is demonstrated by John Travolta’s daughter, Ella. The 21-year-old recently announced that she’s been working on a new song, which she was both excited and nervous to share with the world.

In a post on Instagram, the daughter of the famous “Grease” actor played the piano as she sang a tune she wrote. She further said she’s been working on the tune for about a year and wanted to share it with the world.

“There is something I’ve been working on for the past year that is very dear to my heart,” she wrote. “I wanted to share a part of a song that I wrote that will be on my EP coming out next year. Very excited (and nervous). Hope you like it!”

And as the sweet father he is, John Travolta left a very supportive message in the comment section.

“I’m so very proud of you Ella, its amazing! Your thrilled Dad!” the 67-year-old actor said.

While Ella didn’t share the entire song, she teased with about a minute of a delicate melody. Her voice is full, yet vulnerable and the tune definitely rings of heartache and loss. But one thing is certain – if the 21-year-old wants to pursue a music career, she most definitely can. Her voice is weighty without overcompensating.

Further, her tune on the piano is simple, letting the lyrics carry the song’s meaning. The songwriter and actress has no reason to be nervous, though we’re sure it’s scary to put yourself out there to a world full of critics.

John Travolta on His Late Wife Kelly Preston

John Travolta shares his daughter Ella with his late wife Kelly Preston. The family have remained extremely supportive of each other since her passing in 2020. After a long battle with breast cancer, the actress and mother died in July.

Travolta announced her passing in a post where he also shared his love for his wife. After suffering the loss, Travolta had to navigate the details of death to his young son. He says that he explained life and death to him by sharing the truth.

‘But you know, Ben — you always love the truth and I’m going to tell you the truth about life. Nobody knows when they’re gonna go or when they’re going to stay. Your brother [Jett] left at 16. Too young. Your mother left at 57. That was too young. But who’s to say? I could die tomorrow. You could. Anybody can.”

He went on to add:

“He said, ‘Well, OK. Do you remember 30 years ago?” Travolta relays of his talk with Ben. “I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Does 30 years ago seem like a long time time?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’” He continued, ‘Don’t you think you have 30 more years in your life to live?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I do. I have at least 30 more years.’ He said: What’s wrong with that?”
