John Carter Cash has one of the most iconic couples in music history as his mom and dad. His parents are Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.

The pair had teamed up for many different duets over the years. This included songs like “If I Were a Carpenter,” “Oh, What a Good Thing We Had,” “Daddy Sang Bass,” “It Ain’t Me Babe,” and “Jackson.”

Johnny Cash and Family at ‘Annie’

Besides being iconic performers, the two were are also parents. They had John Carter Cash in 1970. One night they took a break from singing themselves and went to watch others perform on Broadway. John posted a sweet picture of him and his parents backstage at “Annie.”

He explains that it was his second time seeing the show. That night Andrea McArdle had her understudy on stage instead, which was Sarah Jessica Parker. At first, he was disappointed, but he said he grew to love her in the role of Annie in the production just as much. It was around 1979, according to his post.

“Today, I heard the familiar melody of ‘Tomorrow’ ringing through my house and walked into my living room tonight to find my daughter #gracejunecash singing and dancing to the first film version of the musical. The memories began coming back. I love this photo from all those years ago. #reidshelton who portrayed ‘Daddy’ Warbucks can be seen in the background. Miss u, Mom and Dad…” he wrote on Instagram.

He spent his entire life exposed to music. His first experience as a music producer was even on his mother’s album, “Press On” in 1999. It even won a Grammy. He also worked on his father’s albums “American III: Solitary Man” and “American IV: The Man Comes Around.”

He has worked with popular artists like Loretta Lynn, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, Brooks & Dunn, and Lynda Carter over the years.
