Justin Timberlake Donates Wheelchair-Accessible Van to Teen with Cerebral Palsy

For one family, they’re extremely thankful for Justin Timberlake this Thanksgiving.

According to People, the popular pop singer gave a much-needed gift to one of his fans on Wednesday.

Timberlake Helps Teen in Need

He gave 17-year-old Jake Stitt, who has cerebral palsy, a wheelchair-accessible van.

Stitt and his father live together in Morristown, Tennessee. When Timberlake noticed that the two were asking for funds to purchase a van, he did so himself. This also means that the $35,000 that was already raised now can go toward Stitt’s overall care.

“It’s my pleasure … Like I said, I heard there was a goal to try to get this van before Thanksgiving. I heard your story and saw a little news clip about it. I was so moved that I want you guys to have this van. I’m going to cover all the costs. I want you guys to have a great holiday. You inspire me, Jake,” Timberlake said to the family over a Zoom call.

The teen is all about inspiring happiness in other people.

According to People, he usually sits outside with a sign saying to “honk if you’re happy.” With his own van now, this message can be spread beyond just the street Stitt lives on.

The father said that he now has a disability from having to carry his son onto a regular van in the past. He is a military veteran. Now with the van, life will be a little less painful and a little bit easier.

Celebrities Giving Back

With the holidays right around the corner, many celebrities take this as an opportunity to give back to the community. Especially this year with the pandemic affecting many people, it is especially impactful to families and people.

The pandemic has made money tight and has also made it harder to have traditional family gatherings right around the time of the holidays.

According to USA Today, Timberlake wasn’t alone in his desire to give back.

This Thanksgiving CeeLo Green surprised families with turkeys outside of Nouveau Bar & Grill’s Inaugural Turkey Drive in Atlanta.

Tracy Morgan also handed out 1,200 turkeys in the Bronx. French Montana teamed up with City Harvest to hand out turkeys to New Yorkers. Rapper Kodak Black held a drive-up turkey giveaway in Florida. Tyler Perry Studios had the first-serve event with groceries and gift cards to 5,000 families in need.

Celebrities from Brad Pitt to Hugh Jackman to Ryan Reynolds to Ciara to Kim Kardashian are just a few of the celebrities giving back in the difficult year that is 2020.
