Following comedian and actor Kathy Griffin’s lung cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgery, her household had another scare. Her husband, Randy Bick, was recently rushed to the hospital after cutting himself badly while preparing food.
Last week, Griffin shared with her fans that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer. Later that day she underwent surgery to remove half of her left lung. The actress returned home on Friday, but it wasn’t long before she was back in the hospital for different reasons. Her recovery was interrupted when her husband had a bad accident in their kitchen.
The 60-year-old comedian shared details on her Instagram story about Bick’s accident. While preparing a meal for the couple, Bick cut his hand with a knife and had to be taken to the hospital immediately.
“I’m here recovering from cancer surgery, half my left lung is removed… I gotta laugh at it,” Kathy Griffin said on Instagram, according to The U.S. Sun.
“And yesterday I’m in bed and I hear this weird noise and I can’t figure out what it is,” she shared. “Then after a while, maybe like a full minute, I realize it’s my poor husband screaming my name from the kitchen in a weird voice because he was making us lunch. He sliced his freakin’ hand open, like bad.”
She seemed to be in good spirits as she admitted, “I’m laughing so bad.” Griffin noted that, “if he’s calling for my help, it must be bad.”
“I’m going to hell for laughing,” she joked before adding that she could “barely walk.” In fact, Griffin amusingly revealed that she wasn’t wearing any pants at the time of the incident. But she made it to her husband who is reportedly doing alright now and on the mend.
