Kelly Clarkson recently went through a difficult divorce and now has to pay her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock $200k per month in spousal child support. Clarkson, who currently is a coach for The Voice and hosts her own talk show, reportedly makes almost 2 million a month.
The pair have had a public split, with the two divorcing in June 2020 over “irreconcilable differences.” Shortly after their split was announced, the two entered a legal battle with Clarkson’s father-in-law’s company, Starstruck Management. Brandon Blackstock also works for Starstruck management.
The company then sued Kelly Clarkson in September of 2020, escalating the ugliness of the divorce. The suit claimed they owed them $1 million in unpaid commissions. But Clarkson had a very different version of events.
In October, Kelly Clarkson filed a petition with the California Labor Commissioner’s Office claiming that Blackstock and his father defrauded her out of millions of dollars. They reportedly charged her massive fees when she was working with the company.
Blackstock denied those allegations, but that legal battle is still ongoing. Kelly Clarkson was granted primary custody of their children last November and reportedly tries to keep things on polite terms. Still, Us Weekly reports that the singer will have to pay hefty child support payments.
Kelly Clarkson Spoke Out on the Diffulties of Her Divorce
Last February, Kelly Clarkson got personal about the divorce to none other than Khloé Kardashian on her show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“It’s tough. … I know with me and Brandon, it’s just a difficult thing because we’re in different places, and it’s like, we both agree on the main things, but it’s a hard thing when you’re not together all the time, for me personally,” Clarkson said.
“As long as you make sure it’s about the children and their best interests, then we’re both on board,” she added. Now, Kelly Clarkson is ready for a new chapter.

Her bubbly personality and quick comebacks are a joy to watch. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she’s proven herself to be an incredibly successful coach.
Clarkson will co-star on The Voice alongside Blake Shelton, John Legend, and pop superstar Ariana Grande. This will be Grande’s first time on the show. She’s replacing Nick Jonas. The four coaches will select a team of singers; then, each singer will compete for a chance to win a record deal and a cash prize.
You can catch the voice on Monday, September 20th on NBC. With Ariana Grande joining the already enjoyable cast, it’s not a season you’ll want to miss.
