The daughter of political consultant Kellyanne Conway, Claudia, was hospitalized yesterday in fear of her appendix bursting.
The 16-year-old American Idol contestant is worried about the possibility of having appendicitis. She revealed her condition in the most Gen Z way possible: Claudia announced it while dancing from her hospital bed in a TikTok video.
The teenager shared the video with her more than 1.7 million TikTok followers. She’s lying in a hospital bed with a mask covering her face and donning a medical gown. During the clip, Claudia moves to the beat of the song in the background. You can also see an IV hooked up to her arm.
“Let’s hope that my appendix isn’t about to burst,” Claudia Conway captioned her TikTok clip.
Additionally, she added “drip too hard? yall rocking w/ IVs?” to her video. The comment and the background song are from Lil Baby and Gunna’s song “Drip Too Hard.”
Although Claudia hasn’t revealed if she did indeed have appendicitis, she doesn’t seem to be too bad off. This afternoon she posted another video seemingly from her own bed at home.
The hospital scare comes only a week after the teen lost out on American Idol. However, judge and pop star Katy Perry applauded Claudia’s performances on the show. In fact, she also invited Claudia back to audition again next year.
Claudia Conway Auditions For ‘American Idol’
Back in November, Claudia Conway not only auditioned for American Idol, but made it onto the show. Once again, she shared the news of her audition with her TikTok followers while live from her audition.
“Hey guys! I’m here at American Idol confessional,” Claudia said in the video. “I met Ryan Seacrest today and I have my audition soon, so stay tuned for that.”
Claudia said the audition made her “very, very nervous, but very excited” to sing for judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. Perry posted a short video the same day saying “well, well, well, let the games begin because Claudia just tried out for American Idol.”
Claudia’s mother said that the show invited her daughter to audition for the singing competition in Ojai, California. Kellyanne is proud of Claudia for sharing her voice with the world and calls the audition for the show “next level.”
“The last three days have been a whirlwind of interviews, rehearsals and the actual audition. [Claudia] calls it the ‘coolest experience’ of her life,” Kellyanne said to PEOPLE. “She sets goals and works toward them. Of course, American Idol is next level! We are proud of Claudia for entering the arena and sharing her beautiful voice and inspirational message about mental health with others.”
