Ketchup Candy Canes

Ketchup Candy Canes Are Here to Ruin Your Holiday Spirit

What’s more refreshing than a candy cane? Breathing in crisp winter air and peppermint on Christmas morning feels incredible. But what if your candy cane tasted a little more like ketchup?

Novelty store Archie McPhee just debuted a truly diabolical line of candy canes, just in time for the holidays. The Seattle-based store is selling ketchup-flavored candy canes with “rich tomato flavor.” Merry Christmas?

“It’s America’s favorite condiment, but for Christmas!” the store wrote alongside a photo of the candy canes on Instagram. “Do you know what makes mediocre food edible? Ketchup! So, just imagine how a ketchup-flavored candy cane can take your holiday from meh to magnificent.”

Ketchup isn’t the only flavor you can purchase. Archie McPhee is also advertising mushroom and pho-flavored canes. Perhaps if you combine the mushroom and pho canes you might have something resembling a bowl of ramen.

You can get a box of your own ketchup candy canes (or the other flavored candies) for about $5.50. There are six individually-wrapped candy canes with each package, so that works out to about a dollar per cane. It’s a small price to pay if you want to use them to prank your family and friends.

As the product’s tagline goes: “Ketchup Candy Canes are here to save Christmas from being dry and tasteless!”

For many, they’ll have certainly gotten the “tasteless” part right. It’s going to be an interesting holiday season with these candies on the market.
