Kevin Costner is moving forward with his upcoming TV show “National Parks.” And the show just announced its first major cast member.
While it remains to be seen if John Dutton will make a guest appearance, the show will apparently be headlined by none other than Billy Campbell. According to Variety, Costner and his team have picked Campbell in the lead role.
The actor will play Cal Foster, an experienced ISB special agent. Foster is a veteran at the agency. But his leadership skills will be tested as he steps into the team’s head role. Reportedly, Cal is a little insecure about his new responsibilities. But he also has a determination, honor, and loyalty to his team that will make him interesting to watch.
According to the description for Costner’s upcoming series: “While the national parks are known for their sweeping, beautiful landscapes, there is also a darker, more sinister side to these parks that attract a vast array of criminal activity. ‘National Parks’ will follow the small group of elite NPS agents as they solve these crimes while protecting these national treasures.”
Where have you seen Campbell before? Campbell most recently in the Hulu series “Cardinal” as John Cardinal. That series shows he can pull off both brooding and gritty. He portrayed a troubled detective on that series for four seasons. Some of his other TV shows include “Helix,” “The 4400,” and “The Killing” as well. As for film roles, he starred in “The Rocketeer” and “Bram Stoker’s Dracula.”
