In 2019, Kid Rock put his Detroit multi-million dollar home on the market, and while he was known for being a rowdy performer, his house was quite traditional.

According to the Zillow listing, the 6-bedroom, 6-bathroom, 6,000-square-foot home sits in an exclusives Detroit subdivision as one of the few houses that sit on the waterfront of the Detroit River.

With its “full and breathtaking view” of the river, once Kid Rock purchased the home in 2012, he added a boathouse, an outdoor shower, jet ski lifts, and an upper deck that is perfect for outdoor entertaining.

Inside, the home’s two main floors are primarily traditional, with a large living room, dining room hall, and downstairs kitchen which is wrapped with French doors and deep windows. Upstairs, the house features four bedrooms with private baths.

Downstairs, of course, the Detroit native made sure to have the best party pad in the city. The lower level has a large bar, game room, and bistro booths. There’s also a mural of the front of Motown — “Hitsville USA” — with portraits of artists.

The home’s third floor has room for friends, relatives or maybe your band to crash — three extra bedrooms, three baths and a large open space with a mattress.

Before selling, he added a garage and a black fence around the yard with an electronic gate and intercom. He also added landscaping to the yard, installed central air, and replaced the windows.

“Everything he wanted to do, he had to go before some of the boards of the city,” said Kid Rock’s former realtor, Tim Cook. Rock’s other additions include two large outdoor TVs and the boathouse party deck.

Cook added that Rock painted everything inside and replaced all the kitchen appliances with Wolf brand. He also updated the master bathtub. Today, the house sits on .85 acres of meticulously manicured lawns, with perfectly trimmed landscaping, benches, and picnic tables, making it a perfect place to entertain guests.

Although he’s lived lavishly, he’s also lived in a double-wide trailer, despite having millions in the bank account.

In 2018, he traded mansions for a double-wide trailer that, he said at the time, suits his lifestyle much better.

“I live in a double-wide trailer. It’s not like I require a lot. You know, I’ve learned to downsize through the years and it really made me more happy. I’ll sell everything and live in that double-wide but I’m not givin’ up that airplane,” Rock said in 2018.
