With the series finale coming up in just four days, Last Man Standing shared a touching scene between Tim Allen and his daughter on the sitcom.

On Thursday, Last Man Standing will come to an end after nine seasons on television. Allen’s character Mike Baxter, his wife, and their three daughters are bringing things to a close after nearly a decade of laughs. Yet the show meant much more than just a chuckle or two to its fans.

Last Man Standing fans related to the Baxter family. As the TV family grew over the years, you felt like you grew along with them. You were there as Mike and Vanessa’s daughters got married and had children. Fans of the show became connected to the fictional family.

The show’s Twitter account posted a clip of Mike and his middle daughter Mandy sharing a moment together. Mandy is going through a box of her old things as she reminisces with her father. She gets emotional as the father and daughter talk about not having many common interests. Yet they realize that they were able to introduce each other to new things, which were just as special.

The tender moment encapsulates the authenticity behind the Baxter family dynamic. Things aren’t always perfect, but their love and bond with one another is genuinely special.

“We love Mike’s relationship with Mandy. #LastManStanding,” the show captioned its post.

‘Last Man Standing’ Cast and Crew Emotionally Reflect on Series’ End

The same bond that enveloped the Baxter family on-screen spilled over off-set as well. In recent weeks, the cast has opened up about the end of era as Last Man Standing finishes on May 20. After 10 years, two networks (ABC & FOX), and 194 episodes, the hit sitcom is nearing its series finale.

This upcoming Thursday, Last Man Standing will air its last new episode. Variety recently interviewed some of the stars and producers of the show. The guests included star of the show Tim Allen, actors Nancy Travis and Hector Elizondo, and executive producers Kevin Abbott and Matt Berry.

During the collective virtual interview, Allen was asked to speak about his feelings as the show wrapped up. He clearly is going to miss the cast and crew, and is already looking back on the sitcom with great fondness.

“None of this happens without — you’ll hear it a million times — it’s such a great team,” Allen said to Variety. “I was extremely fortunate to have attracted such a team that put it together… That said, it has not been an easy three, four weeks for me. I adored this show, adored this cast, this crew, [everyone].”

Saying goodbye to the people involved with Last Man Standing hasn’t been easy. But it’s been equally challenging for Allen to say so long to the characters themselves as well.

“I said the other day that the characters are gone, and that made me very, very sad,” Allen added. “When I said to Ed (Elizondo) in the last scene, I’m sure it’s in the cut, and he said, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow, Mike,’ and I said, ‘Not in this world.’”
