‘Last Man Standing’ Star Nancy Travis May Not Be Returning for Her New Netflix Show

Popular sitcom Last Man Standing is winding down its final season with the series finale now only weeks away. Nancy Travis is beloved for her role on the sitcom. But Last Man Standing may prevent her from reprising her role on a Netflix comedy.

Fans of Last Man Standing are sad to see the hilarious series go but are glad they got nine seasons of the sitcom. The show stars legendary actor and funnyman Tim Allen as lead character Mike Baxter. Allen’s character is the marketing director of a large outdoors store and the show takes full of advantage of his comedic chops. Allen is surrounded by a terrific cast on the show, with actress Nancy Travis playing his loving wife, Vanessa Baxter.

Travis has been a mainstay on the show, establishing her character as the matriarch of the Baxter family from the first episode on. Vanessa often counterbalances her husband’s occasional off-color humor with a quick wit of her own. The mother of three girls, Vanessa backs her man 100 percent and provides him with a solid foundation. Fans of Last Man Standing agree that the show wouldn’t be the same without Travis’s strong performance as Vanessa.

‘Last Man Standing’ Filming Creates Conflict for Travis

The filming of the final season of Last Man Standing has thrown a wrench into the filming of another show Travis works on. In “The Kominsky Method,” Travis plays Lisa, a student of acting coach Sandy Kominskey, played by Michael Douglas. Lisa later becomes Kominsky’s love interest on the show.

Now, word has come down that Travis may not return to The Kominsky Method for its final season. A report from TV Line states Travis is unable to reprise her role as Lisa due to a scheduling conflict with Last Man Standing filming. While fans say she is wonderful on the Netflix series, most are happy she chose to stick with Last Man Standing.

The hilarious sitcom got its start on the ABC Network before its cancelation after six seasons. Seizing an opportunity, Fox picked up Last Man Standing and continued it for three more seasons. The show is now in its ninth and final season with the series finale likely to air next month.

Some fans have speculated that Fox might consider a 10th season in the future or even a reunion show or movie-type feature. But the show’s faltering ratings suggest that likely will not be the case.
