As fans prepare for an emotional farewell to “Last Man Standing,” Tim Allen wants you to remember there are still two episodes left.
The all-time great funny man and actor took to social media to remind fans to tune in to tonight’s episode. The upcoming episode will be the final one before next week’s series finale. Allen has spoken out on more than one occasion about how much he will miss the show and his character. “Last Man Standing” fans feel the same exact way as their favorite show will soon be going off the air for good.
“Don’t miss tonight on FOX,” Allen says in the Thursday afternoon tweet. “A great and funny episode of Last Man Standing.”
On the hilarious sitcom, Allen plays Mike Baxter, a marketing director for an outdoorsman retail store. Allen is firmly in his element on the show as a family man who must navigate the hardships of a house full of women. The light-hearted comedy is full of touching moments as Baxter discovers he doesn’t always have the right answers.
‘Last Man Standing’ Nearing the End of a Great Run
Allen notes that he shares more in common with Mike Baxter than previous characters he has portrayed. The show is often compared to another Tim Allen comedy classic, “Home Improvement.” Heavily popular in the 1990s, “Home Improvement” features a similar setup to “Last Man Standing.”
On “Home Improvement,” Allen plays bumbling tool expert Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor. Both shows revolve around Allen’s comedic chops and they surround him with characters he can feed off. Both show are about the trials and tribulation of the typical American family with Allen as the father and centerpiece.
In a particular light-hearted yet hilarious scene, Allen reprises his “Home Improvement” character for “Last Man Standing.” It’s quite the sight to see when Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor and Mike Baxter stand face to face. Richard Karn, who plays Al Borland on “Home Improvement,” has also made guest appearances on “Last Man Standing.”
With “Last Man Standing” nearing the end, Allen already has his next gig in place. The History Channel’s “Assembly Required” reunited Allen and Karn as hosts of a reality building competition. After a successful first season, the show is anxiously awaiting news on its renewal for a possible second season. The show has been a big hit with fans of both “Last Man Standing” and “Home Improvement” as well as Tim Allen fans.
