‘Last Man Standing’ Won’t Air New Episode on April 1 Due to Season Premiere of Another Show

No, this isn’t an April Fool’s Joke! There’s no new episode of  ‘Last Man Standing’ airing Thursday night, and it’s all thanks to this FOX show’s Season 2 premiere.

April Fool’s Day is a cursed day, isn’t it? Can’t even read news on your favorite shows without some website trying to “have fun” with the day. Lying isn’t fun, Karen! Rest assured we’re doing no such thing here on Outsider today. We’re simply passing along the happenings we care about.

And right now that’s the upsetting news that there’s no episode of ‘Last Man Standing’ this Thursday night! With the following tweet straight from their official Twitter account, the show confirms it themselves:

“Me when someone tries to interrupt my #LastManStanding time. We’ll miss you tonight, but we’ll see you next week!,” the Thursday announcement reads.

So who, exactly, do we have to thank for no new ‘Last Man Standing’ tonight? According to fan account Last Man Still Standing, “There’s no new episode of @LastManStanding tonight (& it’s not an April Fool’s Joke) because of ‘The Moody’s Season 2’ Premiere.”

And there we have it. The Denis Leary-led comedy series has dethroned Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing’ this week. Seems a little unfair to a beloved show in its final throws, doesn’t it?

Regardless, the final season will return next Thursday, April 8. It will, however, be on at a new time – so be sure to tune in at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT to FOX!

Tim Allen Will Miss ‘Last Man Standing’ as Much as You

Just a few days ago, Tim Allen revealed a “limited audience” would attend the live taping of their final episode Tuesday night. The revelation came as a much-needed boost for the star:

“Really hard moments this last day,” Tim Allen tweeted Tuesday. The television icon is having a rough time seeing his latest hit sitcom, ‘Last Man Standing,’ come to an end – and so are fans. Thankfully, however, Allen revealed the cast & crew “will get a limited audience for the live show tonite. Going out mission accomplished.”

For Allen, the hardest part of filming during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has been the absence of a live audience. This, coupled with seeing his “favorite” sets for the last time, has both the star and fans emotional.

Indeed, as much as fans love ‘Last Man Standing,’ it could be argued that Tim Allen loves it even more. The actor has been quite vocal about his sadness over Mike Baxter’s tenure coming to an end. It’s been a long, winding road between networks, studios, cast and crew, too. Yet through it all, one thing remains constant: Allen genuinely adores ‘Last Man Standing.’

Here’s to the show’s return next week!
