With absolutely evil villains and plenty of crossover events with Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Organized Crime season 2 is looking like it’ll be awesome. But that doesn’t mean Chris Meloni can’t be his hilarious self between takes.
“Here we are. Shooting. Come on out John,” he says in the video. He’s whispering in a van in a hilarious way. “Say hi to Marsha [Mariska Hargitay].” Meloni and Hargitay have been posting back and forth whispering videos to each other. In this video, he’s calling her “Marsha.” They starred on Law & Order: SVU together for over a decade before Meloni left due to a contract dispute.
Now that Meloni is back with the Law & Order franchise, it’s clear the two actors are having fun.
“It’s how the sausage is made. Peace out.” He signed off.
Hargitay and Meloni recently broke the fanbase with a photo of the two getting up close and personal. Many fans have hoped that their characters, Benson and Stabler, would get together for years. He posted a photo of the two almost kissing and captioned it “rehearsing.”
The ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Star Feels Like He’s at The Perfect Level of Fame
While Meloni gets recognized on the street sometimes, he’s not at a crazy level of fame. That’s perfect for him. He doesn’t find his fame boring at all, and recognized that the downsides are smaller than the perks for him. Meloni stars on a famous show and has made himself an internet meme a decent few times, but he’s not necessarily chased by paparazzi every second.
“There’s nothing banal about it. Once you’ve downloaded and accepted that it’s a give and take…Once you truly measure the ‘downside,’ it’s like, ‘You know what, b—h? Shut up,’” Meloni told Elle in 2014. “The upside is pretty cool.”
But before his fame, Meloni struggled with insecurities after he was cast on the series, feeling like he wasn’t good enough.
“When my career started to happen, I could feel it. But I didn’t want to trust it, because I had struggled for so long—or at least it felt like I’d struggled for so long—and I didn’t want it to go away,” he told Men’s Health earlier this Summer. Thankfully, that success didn’t go anywhere. If anything, it only grew.
Chris Meloni will be back as Elliot Stabler for season 2 of Law & Order: Organized Crime on Thursday, September 23rd. Unlike last season, this season will feature three eight-episode arcs full of action.
