Law & Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni posted a happy snapshot to celebrate Thanksgiving and family.

But because it’s Meloni, he also had to offer a clever play on words with the caption that accompanied his photo. His daughter, Sophia, also was in the snapshot. They all looked like they were in a local park, working off some holiday carbs.

“Thanksgiving hustle with Paul Van Winkle, Sophia Meloni and other assorted motleys,” Meloni wrote.

Law & Order: Organized Crime is on a brief hiatus as the story arcs evolve from the Albanian mob back to NYC crime boss Richard Wheatley (Dylan McDermott). The next new episode is everything for fans of Meloni, his new show and his old one, Law & Order: SVU.

The next new episode is set for Dec. 9. And get this, it’s not only a crossover, but it’s an official Christmas episode. Earlier this week, NBC released some of the details for SVU and Law & Order: Organized Crime. The SVU episode is called “People Vs. Richard Wheatley.” And the synopsis “Carisi tries Richard Wheatley for the murder of Kathy Stabler.” So will Wheatley face the consequences of having Elliot Stabler’s wife, Kathy, killed via a car bomb?

Plus, there are more problems with Mariska Hargitay’s character, with the NBC promo saying “Benson finds herself at odds with a friend when Barba agrees to take the case.”

The following hour of Law & Order: Organized Crime offers more problems with the Stabler family. According to the synopsis: “When Eli goes missing, Stabler asks Benson and the task force to help him find his son. Wheatley considers his future.” Eli is Elliot Stabler’s son.

Ilene Chaiken, the Law & Order: Organized Crime showrunner, offered more details about the episode. And they don’t sound like the makings of a festive hour of TV.

“It will be a very Law & Order Christmas,” Chaiken told TV Line. “I’ll just say: I hope we don’t ruin Christmas for you for all time.”

We’d just like the show back, in any form, even if it’ll ruin our TV Christmas, right? The last time we saw a new episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime was back on Nov. 11, with Ashes to Ashes. And basically, that’s the episode where Stabler burned down the Albanian mob. For the first two-plus months of the fall season, Meloni’s Stabler went undercover as Eddie Wagner. He befriended Reggie and earned the trust of Albi Briscu, while having a fling with Flutera and trying to stay out of the cross-hairs of Jon Kosta.

The Ashes to Ashes episode ended the first story arc. The cops nabbed Kosta early in the episode, then Stabler, using Flutera, was able to arrest Albi. And they all survived when Albi’s sister, Agnes, decided to pull a gun at the arraignment.
