On Thursday afternoon, Law & Order: Organized Crime star Chris Meloni shared a heartfelt tribute for his wife on their 26th anniversary.
Meloni, 60, and his wife Doris Sherman Williams, 58, met back in 1989. Williams is a production designer and the couple met on the set of a television series. At the time, Williams had a boyfriend, and when they met again down the road, Meloni was in a relationship.
Finally, two years later the pair got the timing right and started dating. After four more years, the couple tied the knot in a medieval-themed wedding on the beaches of Malibu, California, according to a Country Living article.
The couple have two children together as well. Sophia Eva Pietra Meloni, 20, and Dante Amadeo Meloni, 17, have been raised in New York City. However, if things were up to their mother, they would’ve stayed in California. While Williams preferred living in Los Angeles, according to the article, she eventually gave in to the Law & Order actor’s preference of the Big Apple.
Today, on July 1, Meloni celebrated his “partner in crime” with a sweet anniversary post on Instagram. He shared two photos with the first one taken at their Malibu wedding in 1995. In addition, he added a second personal photo of the couple taking a selfie together with some amusing graffiti-like art on the wall that says “Let’s get WEIRD.”
“How it started… how it’s goin. 26 years of…well… it’s hard to explain #partnerincrime #keepingitweird,” the Law & Order star captioned his anniversary post.
‘Law & Order’ Star Chris Meloni’s Wife Sherman
As previously mentioned, Law & Order star Chris Meloni and his wife Sherman have been married for 26 years now. While Meloni has been in the spotlight and on TV for years, his wife also has had an equally incredible career in Hollywood behind the camera.
Sherman Meloni grew up in the South as the daughter of an oil executive. The production designer and artist worked as an art director and in the visual effects department for years, according to her IMDB page. She’s worked on numerous projects in the entertainment industry. The projects include Night at the Golden Eagle, The Curse of Inferno, 413 Hope St., The Locusts, Curdled, The Chase, and more.
She went to college at the California College of the Arts and graduated with a degree in Fine Art. For 14 years Sherman worked on movies and television shows before returning to school and following her passion for art. Following the couples move to New York City, she studied at Parsons, the Art Students League, and The National Academy School. The artist creates oil painting portraits that she commissions on her personal website.
Furthermore, her eye for design also extended into the family’s home. In fact, Architectural Digest featured their house and showed off the home she helped design. As famous as her Law & Order starring husband may be, Sherman has found plenty of success in her own right as well.
