Some Law & Order: Organized Crime fans are questioning one story from the recent episode that may have gone a little too far. In the episode, Flutura Briscu, the wife of a mob boss, and Elliot Stabler sleep together while Stabler is undercover. Some note that it may have gone too far, and it’s kind of excessive considering he also linked up with Angela Wheatley last season.
In a Reddit thread called “Elliot’s Rebounds,” fans discuss the moment from last night’s episode.
“First, Angela Wheatley. Now, Flutura Briscu (I know he’s UC in this one, but did he need to take it that far?) I highly doubt this is what Bell meant when she said he ‘need[s] to find someone else… to move on.’ I mean, DAMN,” one Reddit user wrote.
Many fans agree, one fan noted that this is a sign that he shouldn’t be working on the case, or even with the organized crime unit at all until he gets better.
‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Fans Worry about Stabler’s Mental Health
“I think Elliot continuing the [Undercover operation] when he was at risk of being killed and then having sex with Flutura is an indication of his current mental instability and possibly PTSD from Kathy’s death and guilt over his feelings for Olivia. I hope when Bell finds out his relationship with Flutura which compromises the case that she puts him on leave and insists that he sees a therapist,” the Law & Order: Organized Crime fan wrote.
“He’s running away from himself and it’s a lot easier for him to be Eddie Ashes than it is for him to be Elliot stabler. His unresolved PTSD issues, which don’t seem as prevalent but I’m sure are still there,” a fan seconded. “And he’s, 100% haunted by his feelings for Olivia. He can’t run from his feelings for her anymore everywhere he goes he’s reminded of them. Everyone sees it in him.”
Since the death of his wife, Stabler has been on a path of vengeance since re-joining the force. But fans are worried about his mental health and his lack of care for himself. It looks like Law & Order: Organized Crime fans are looking for Sergent Bell to intervene.
Things are definitely heating up between Stabler and Benson as well. He almost told her “I love you” on the phone earlier. But clearly, Stabler’s been struggling a lot. Hopefully, he gets the help he needs before things between them go any further. A couple of episodes back, Benson was left to defend Stabler’s actions to Rollins, who is starting to doubt his intentions as an officer.
You can catch the next episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime on Thursday at 10/9 Central. Law & Order: SVU, which occasionally features Stabler, airs an hour before.
