‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Star Christopher Meloni Snapped in Rare Appearance With Wife Sherman

A new photo of Law & Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni features him with his wife, Sherman. Meloni has been a part of the Law & Order franchise (on and off) since 1999. During that whole time, he’s been married to Sherman Williams. The two like to keep their lives together private, but they made a rare appearance together last night at a No Time to Die screening.

Meloni currently stars as Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: Organized Crime. He re-joined the Law & Order franchise after over a decade. He originally starred on Law & Order: SVU alongside Mariska Hargitay before leaving the show due to a contract dispute.

How the ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Star First Met His Wife

Meloni first met Sherman on the set of an HBO series in 1989. Sherman is a production designer. He told Your Tango that the moment he saw her, he knew he had to meet her. Unfortunately, she already had a boyfriend at the time. Still, when they ran into each other again, Sherman invited him to a party. She still had the boyfriend at the time, but that’s when they formally got to know each other.

They then ran into each other again, but Meloni’s dating life was quite busy then, and he “let her slide.” After that run-in, it took them two years to finally start dating. The couple tied the knot in 1995 with a quirky medieval-themed wedding. The wedding was officiated by a nondenominational minister and they toasted with goblets.

The two have had to navigate really intense schedules as they both work in the entertainment industry.

Law & Order bleeds it out of you,” Meloni told Your Tango. “Five days a week, sometimes six, 14 to 15 hours a day—eating lunch standing up, using your time in your trailer to study or make phone calls.”

But they’ve made it work. They now have two kids together, Sophia and Dante. Meloni says they’re doing well. He told the publication that the secret to their long marriage is having a drama-free approach and mutual respect for each other.

“I’m not a fan of complicated,” he said. “There’s so much energy expended in personal drama, in having a dramatic life. People get addicted to the drama.”

Meloni prefers to keep the drama for his character, Elliot Stabler. Stabler has already had a tumultuous season of Law & Order: Organized Crime and we’re just a few episodes in. If you want to watch more of Meloni, you can tune in to Law & Order: Organized Crime on NBC Thursday nights at 10/9 central. But you may also want to catch, Law & Order: SVU that always airs an hour before where Meloni frequently guest stars.
