“Law & Order: Organized Crime” enjoyed a big-time series debut in the Spring. The Season 1 success was, in part, thanks to the star power provided by “Law & Order” veteran and Elliot Stabler actor Chris Meloni. But another actor who quickly became a fan-favorite came in the form of Stabler’s partner, Ayanna Bell actress Danielle Moné Truitt.
NBC’s official Instagram account for the franchise posted a photo of the “Law & Order: Organized Crime” star alongside two of her fellow cast members. They’re drumming up excitement for Season 2 of the show. At present, the anticipated premiere date is September 23.
Also pictured with Danielle Moné Truitt is “This Is Us” star Ron Cephas Jones. He wasn’t part of the cast for Season 1, but he is set to join “Law & Order: Organized Crime” as Congressman Leon Kilbride—a character whose intentions aren’t always clear.
On Truitt’s left is Keren Dukes, who appeared in four episodes of Season 1 as Denise. It looks like she’s ready for some increased screen time in Season 2.
Joining them and Season 1 leads, Chris Meloni and Dylan McDermott, is Vinnie Jones. The “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” star is set to play Albi Briscu, an Albanian gangster. He will reportedly represent one of the villains featured throughout the three-act Season 2 structure of the newest “Law & Order” show.
It’s safe to say fans are excited for the newest “Law & Order” offering to get its second phase underway.
“Can’t wait for the season to start!!!” an eager fan replied to NBC’s Instagram post.
“I almost didn’t recognize Sgt! Lovin all this glam,” another added.
“Omg Danielle looks so prettyy,” an Ayanna Bell admirer chimed in.
What Can ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Fans Expect From Season 2?
Fans of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” were on the edges of their seats as Stabler (Meloni) and Season 1 bad guy Richard Wheatley (McDermott) went toe to toe. Season 2, however, promises to deliver three times the action.
Oh, yeah. According to “Law & Order” creator and “Law & Order: Organized Crime” executive producer Dick Wolf, Season 2 will come in three separate acts. Each will reportedly feature a different villain.
“The first third of the season is ‘The Godfather.‘ The second third is ‘American Gangster.’ And the last third is ‘Scarface.’ And these villains are going to be really bad guys that give [Detective Elliot Stabler] a constant source of energy, outrage, belief in justice and a different way of pursuing criminals than we’ve had before,” Wolf told TVLine in May.
Potential crossovers between “Organized Crime” and “Law & Order: SVU” are also on the table for Season 2. Fans want to see how the relationship between Stabler and Benson plays out, after all.
