‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’: Vinnie Jones Thinks His Best Acting on Show Came Through Chris Meloni

The name Vinnie Jones might ring a few bells for the British actor’s role in “Snatch” alongside Jason Statham or perhaps even his fruitful soccer career overseas. But, of course, most of our Outsiders know him from somewhere else. That would be Vinnie Jones’ portrayal of one of Jon Kosta’s (Michael Raymond-James) cronies on the long-running “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”

His Albi Briscu character is directly involved in the notorious crime family’s scheming. (This mostly takes the shape of the drug trafficking in NYC.) We’ve seen Elliot Stabler make strides in taking down the Albanian mob from the inside for the better part of two seasons. Ultimately, this is because the spin-off’s structure allows for longer character arcs and storylines. This also means fans get a look at the “bad guys” like never before. Jones even thinks all that extra time spent around Chris Meloni might have rubbed off on his own acting.

Vinnie Jones Praises His ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Co-Star Saying ‘He Brings Out the Best in You’

Vinnie Jones admires the entire cast of “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” but his character arc meant spending extra time with Christopher Meloni. One scene, in particular, brings back fond memories for the star. ***If you haven’t caught up with all the episodes yet, here’s your spoiler warning.

“I think that was quite powerful,” Jones begins as he describes the scene where “it all starts dropping into place. And [Stabler] says, ‘Albi, I’ve got your secret. No one will know.’” This comes in reference to Albi’s closeted sexuality. After pausing to think for a moment, the audience sees Albi opt to spare Stabler’s life. The two then share a moment of trust and bonding.

Vinnie Jones continues, “I thought that was some of the best acting that I did on the show.” He then turns the conversation to working with Meloni who he says “brings out the best acting [in you].”

He captions the photo “All in a day’s work.” It shows off the heavy-duty film equipment that NBC uses to make the magic happen. As the professionals toy with the mechanics and lighting, Vinnie Jones gives fans a full panorama of the massive crew behind the cameras. This also includes a look at the industrial set.

The show airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
