‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’: Will Richard and Angela Wheatley Return in Season 2?

We have not heard the last of Richard Wheatley on “Law & Order: Organized Crime.” The crime boss still awaits trial for the murder of Kathy Stabler. Though, he swears he has evidence pointing to the fact that Angela ordered the hist against Kathy. Angela, meanwhile, is dealing with the aftermath of poisoning and may not be able to defend herself against the accusations. Long story short, we’re going to be seeing plenty of the Wheatleys in Season 2 of the Christopher Meloni-led show.

That said, the Wheatley’s haven’t factored into the first few episodes of the season. True to his word, it would seem that Dick Wolf has indeed structured Season 2 as three main parts. Thus far, we’ve seen Christopher Meloni’s Elliot Stabler infiltrate the world of Albi Briscu (Vinnie Jones) and his Eastern European crime syndicate.

However, the absence of the Wheatleys has been weighing on “Law & Order: Organized Crime” fans. A Redditor by the name of FreshmenMan posted about the show recently. He asked if other fans thought Richard or Angela Wheatley would return in Season 2. We know that Richard Wheatley will return in some capacity because of the contract Dylan McDermott signed between Seasons 1 and 2. But we don’t know what form that return will take.

Well, the “Law & Order: Organized Crime” fans on Reddit have some ideas.

“They will definitely be back once Elliot is done with his uc, they still have his trial for the murder of Kathy to deal with. They touch on where they are at, very briefly in the season premiere,” wrote Butterscotch4812. “Wheatley ended up having all charges dropped, except for Kathy’s murder that’s still going to trial. He says he has recordings of Angela ordering Kathy’s hit and I believe him.”

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ and ‘SVU’ Continue Crossing Over in Emotional Ways

In a three-hour crossover event, the premiere of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” Season 2 aired hand-in-hand with “Law & Order: SVU” Season 23.

There was a huge buzz ahead of the premiere regarding a letter Stabler (Meloni) gave to Benson (Hargitay). The reason for all the excitement is the juicy prospect of Stabler and Benson finally taking their relationship to a romantic level after 20-plus years of close friendship. Countless fans want to see it happen. Many don’t.

Regardless, Stabler has effectively confessed his love for his longtime partner in Olivia Benson. The confession set things in motion. But there is still no guarantee that the two end up together.

“I don’t anticipate them running off and living together as much as the audience would like that. Anticipation is the most exciting part of most relationships… the chase is always better,” Dick Wolf told Entertainment Tonight recently.
