‘Law & Order: SVU’ Actor Isaiah Stokes Indicted For Murder in New York City

A New York City judge has charged a former “Law & Order: SVU” actor with murder after allegedly shooting a man ten times. Authorities charged and arrested 41-year-old Isaiah Stokes on Friday over the February 7th murder of 37-year-old Tyrone Jones in Queens, New York.

According to police, the perpetrator shot Jones multiple times in the face and head while sitting in his car. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene. Soon after, footage of the grizzly murder quickly started circulating online.

A source with the NYPD told the New York Daily News that Isaiah Stokes and Jones had gotten into a physical altercation four months earlier in October, at Jones’ birthday party in a nightclub in Long Island, New York.

According to the source, the fight started after Stokes allegedly hit on Jones’ girlfriend. Then, in February, police said Jones was waiting to meet a woman in the car around a mile from his home when a gunman ambushed him.

Jones was shot almost nearly a dozen times. At the crime scene, police recovered ten shell casings from a 9mm weapon. The released surveillance footage shows Isaiah Stokes as he walks past the driver’s side window of the car before returning and gunning down his victim. He also fled the scene of the crime.

The suspect was then seen on separate footage getting into a rented Audi. Afterward, the police tracked the vehicle to a parking spot near his home, according to police.

Authorities arrested Stokes on Friday morning at his apartment in Forest Hills. He was later arraigned that day on three charges of second-degree murder along with weapons possession.
