‘Law & Order: SVU’: Chris Meloni Shows Off New Photos from ‘X-Over’ with ‘Organized Crime’

by Megan Molseed

These are the episodes of which Law & Order fans can’t seem to get enough. The moment when the wildly popular Law & Order: SVU crosses over with another favorite, Law & Order: Organized Crime.

That’s right, our favorite detectives are working on another crossover episode. Or, as Law & Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni puts it, an “X-Over” episode.

Thankfully, Christopher Meloni seems to know how much we love these cross-over moments. So he shared with us some fun snapshots from this “X-Over” episode on his Instagram Friday night.

The November 5 post highlights the “ladies” (and a “dude or 2) who are behind the crossover event, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

“The ladies of SVU/OC X-Over,” the Law & Order: Organized Crime says in the Friday night post.

“and a dude or 2,” Meloni adds.

Of course, we are always happy to see the moments when SVU star Mariska Hargitay and Organized Crime star, Christoper Meloni share the camera.

Since Law & Order: Organized Crime premiered earlier this year, the two shows have had a few cross-over events.

This is especially exciting for the longtime Law & Order: SVU fans who have been waiting for the spark that flickers between SVU’s Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her former partner, Law & Order: Organized Crime star, Elliot Stabler (Meloni), to finally turn into a flame.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Partners Have a Bumpy Journey

The former SVU partners have been a favorite duo for over twenty years. The partners first hit the big screen on Law & Order: SVU when the series premiered in 1999.

In 2011, however, SVU fans were shocked to see the Benson/Stabler team break up when Meloni unexpectedly exited the wildly popular NBC series.

And, despite the clear connection Olivia Benso and Elliot Stabler had onscreen, fans would wait almost exactly a decade before they saw the two reunite.

Then, when Benson and Stabler finally found themselves face to face again during the Law & Order: Organized Crime series premiere last spring, just like that, the fans hope that the two detectives would finally come together returned.

In fact, the two detectives have even shared some intense moments in the last few months. Many characters in the Law & Order universe have even alluded to Stabler’s “one true love.”

While showrunners of the hit franchise don’t discount a possible Benson/Stabler romance, the series’s executive produce, Dick Wolfe does say that if something were to happen, it would be a slow transition.

“I don’t anticipate them running off and living together as much as the audience would like that,” says Wolfe.

“Anticipation is the most exciting part of most relationships,” the showrunner adds. “The chase is always better.”
