‘Law & Order: SVU’: Is Demore Barnes Working on Any New Shows After Leaving SVU?

Stay tuned, folks! Law & Order: SVU star Demore Barnes is working on another project behind the scenes but he can’t tell us anything else.

Barnes, a Canadian actor, is perhaps best known for his role as and Deputy Chief Christian Garland on Law & Order: SVU. In addition to that, he’s also starred in the CBS television series The Unit as Sergeant First Class Hector Williams, and in Supernatural as the archangel Raphael.

We, like most TV fans, have loved Barnes in all of his various roles. But what is in store next for the 45-year-old? He sat down with Kelly Kearney of Starry Magazine earlier this year to talk about it.

“You are a busy guy! Always working and popping up in many of our favorite shows like Supernatural, the mini-series Waco, and my personal favorite Hannibal. Any plans for other projects next year the fans can look out for?” Kearney asked the veteran actor.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Has a Non-Disclosure Agreement

We all want to know what Demore Barnes will be working on next. But despite Kelly Kearney trying to pry that information out of him, Barnes couldn’t say much more other than “stay turned!”

“Yeah, that’s a good question!” Barnes responded. “When you asked that I was kind of like ‘[singing] NDA! NDA! Non-disclosure agreement there!’”

At first glance, you may have thought the Law & Order: SVU star was kidding about the non-disclosure agreement. But he was being serious. He is currently working on a project but he can’t mention any details about it in public.

“I would love to share,” he continued, “but there is a particular project that I am working on that I am a part of and attached to and I guess all I can say is, for fear of being rebuked, stay tuned!”

So, what does that mean for all of us loyal fans in the meantime? Barnes says we will have to continue watching him on Law & Order: SVU until further notice.

“There’s going to be more Demore elsewhere beyond SVU, but for the time being SVU is where you’re going to get the most of me right now and happily so.”

However, he also thanked Kearney for saying how much she enjoyed his work on NBC’s Hannibal. Barnes played the role of Tobias Budge on the show. He is clearly very thankful for his opportunity to be a part of it.

“As for Hannibal, thank you, thank you! I’d work with [Hannibal creator] Bryan Fuller anytime, anyplace,” Barnes said proudly. “I’m grateful for him for that opportunity. I had that opportunity because of him as well as American Gods. I’m eternally grateful for him and Michael Green as well. So, thank you.”
