How does a Law & Order: SVU squad plan a wedding?

This squad knows just how to plan a wedding,” the official Law & Order: SVU account captioned the clip. The team is seen in the squad room discussing what has to be prepared for Fin Tutola’s upcoming wedding to Phoebe Baker.

Katriona “Kat” Tamin and Amanda Rollins are seen bantering back and forth listing off the things he has to schedule. Fin just wants a simple ceremony with limited guests while the crew wants it to be worthwhile for the couple despite the small size. Rollins notes that he needs someone to legally bind them.

Luckily for them,  Dominick “Sonny” Carisi was a minister and just had to get his license renewed to wed the couple.

The Law & Order Season 22 finale had geared fans up for the big day, only to be let down by no wedding. Instead, the couple wanted to make it a party. Finally, they realized that they didn’t need a legal document to prove their love.

Showrunner Warren Leight told TVLine that the creators wanted to have a positive and healthy relationship portrayed on the show.

“It’s always bugged me that everybody in all cop shows comes from, or is in a dysfunctional relationship or is not in a relationship at all,” he shared. “So we just wanted to have somebody be in a good relationship for once.”

Despite no wedding, love was certainly in the air during the finale. After seasons of waiting, Rollins and Carisi shared a kiss! Is it Season 23 yet?

Chris Meloni’s Return To ‘Law & Order: SVU’

This season beloved character of Elliott Stabler returned to Law & Order: SVU along with his own spinoff, Organized Crime. Despite leaving the franchise in 2011 and off the air for ten years, he got right back into the groove.

Law & Order: Organized Crime star Ainsley Seiger couldn’t believe the pair’s “undeniable chemistry” after all of these years apart.

“You really wouldn’t be able to tell that they’ve spent a decade apart, it doesn’t show,” she shared with PopCulture. “They fell right back into that rhythm.”

Seiger noted that it’s interesting to see them work together as colleagues because of their friendship.

“And isn’t that just the dream for everyone? To show up to work and get to play pretend with someone who you genuinely like that much, it’s really intoxicating, yeah,” she concluded.
