Law & Order: SVU knows exactly how to make fans emotional in less than a minute. A new tweet shows a recent clip from the epic 500th episode and features Olivia talking to the ever-so-missed Cragen. The recent episode brought in a ton of familiar faces for the event, but few people had fans as sentimental as Cragen actor Dann Florek.

Florek left the show in 2014 after being with the Law & Order franchise since the early 90s. In the clip from the 500th episode, Cragen gives Olivia some advice on the case.

“Thank you, captain,” Olivia says.

“Well thank you, Captain,” Cragen replies. “You don’t know how proud it makes me to say that.”

The clip is 31 seconds long but definetly had fans in their feelings.

“i miss cragen so much,” one fan wrote.

Mariska Hargitay’s Husband Posted a Sweet Message about the 500th Episode of ‘Law & Order: SVU’

Mariska Hargitay actually met her husband on set of Law & Order: SVU. Her husband, Peter Hermann, is an actor as well. He made a guest appearance on the show in August of 2002. They married two years later in 2004.

Hermann was quick to congratulate his wife on the incredibly impressive milestone. After all, Mariska Hargitay has been at the Helm of the show as Olivia Benson this entire time. Now, 500 episodes deep, she’s definitely deserving of some serious praise for all the hard work she’s done in front of the camera as well as behind the scenes.

“@Mariska You’re at 500 episodes tonight. You astonish me. We met in episode 54. Best 447 episodes of my life. Congratulations, you beautiful life force. I love you. #SVU,” Hermann wrote in a heart-melting tweet that also included a photo of the happy couple.

The New Episode Had Tons of Flashbacks

The new episode of Law & Order: SVU packed a major emotional punch, containing multiple flashbacks. It was beautifully titled, You’ve Come a Long Way, Benson, and took a look back on Olivia Benson’s life with the special victims unit. There were tons of flashbacks from early in the show, including one that took fans all the way back to episode one which premiered in 1999.

The episode also saw the return of characters like Cragen and Amaro, but Amaro may stick around for a bit. His storyline in the episode doesn’t seem nice and finished, and many Law & Order: SVU fans who were fans of him are hoping this means he’ll have an arc of his own.

Law & Order: SVU airs new episodes on Thursday nights at 9/8 central on NBC. Following new episodes of Law & Order: SVU, you can watch Law & Order: Organized Crime which follows former SVU detective Elliot Stabler’s return to the force.
