If you Outsiders know anything about “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay, then you will understand how important family is to her.

Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson on the long-running NBC police drama, loves sharing pieces of her life with fans. Especially if it involves her husband, actor Peter Herrmann.

“Law & Order: SVU” fans know Herrmann from his recurring role as Defense Attorney Trevor Langan. Well, Hargitay shared a photo of herself with Herrmann on her Instagram account on Monday. It’s a really cute picture of both actors who actually did meet on the show’s set years ago.

Take a look at this photo and then you’ll have some context around it.

Hargitay and Herrmann have been married since 2004. They have three children, two boys named August and Andrew, and a girl named Amaya.

Movie and entertainment fans also remember that Hargitay was the daughter of actress Jayne Mansfield and actor-bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay.

Back to “Law & Order: SVU,” where Hargitay and co-star Ice-T are the longest-tenured stars on the show. The NBC police drama is in Season 23 and will be showing new episodes on Thursdays at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central.

Hargitay’s old partner in battling crime, Christopher Meloni, stars in “Law & Order: Organized Crime.” Meloni returned to his Detective Elliot Stabler character this “SVU” spin-off and anchors the show that’s also on Thursday nights. You can catch “Organized Crime” at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Premiere Saw Olivia Benson Get Her Loyalty Seriously Tested

On “Law & Order: SVU,” its Season 23 premiere was definitely filled with action. Heck, even Olivia Benson was pushed to the brink.

Who, pray tell, would she be loyal to when push came to shove?

We watched as Benson crossed paths with Deputy Chief Christian Garland.

Their differences were aired when it came to working on an investigation into a sex-for-housing scheme.

So, what did happen to Garland? He took off as did actor Demore Barnes, who is no longer on “Law & Order: SVU.”

The same thing goes for actress Mamie Gray Hyder, who played Detective Kat Tamin in the drama.

Their departures were first reported by Deadline. Hyder said that the decision happened “above her pay grade.”

Jamie Gray Hyder, who played Tamin, confirmed the Deadline report in an Instagram post. Barnes didn’t offer any comment.

Fans now might wonder who or what will replace those two characters. Since “SVU” is early in the season, all of us are going to have to watch and see what happens.

Also, there’s been no concrete word on what Hyder or Barnes will be doing in the future.
