‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Mariska Hargitay Posts a ‘Reminder’ About ‘What We Are Made For’

In the midst of behind-the-scenes pics and happy birthday wishes, “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay posted a stark reminder of what we’ve all been through the last year and a half.

Hargitay didn’t even include a caption with her Instagram post. She just put a picture of a quote from Rev. Esau McCaulley out there earlier. The quote reads, “The pandemic has reminded us that life is more than what we do. It is about whom we spend our lives with. We cannot hug a career or laugh with a promotion. We are made for friendship, love, and community.”

The reverend’s words hit hard, reminding us of all the things we had to hold closer this past year. And how we had to balance our work life at home with our personal life.

Several stars later reached out to the “Law & Order” actress in the comments of her Instagram post. Eleven-year-old co-star Ryan Buggle commented with several heart emojis, as did nutrition coach Adam Rosante. Actress Ali Wentworth wrote, “You and me baby!”

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Mariska Hargitay Teases Crossover Romance in New Pic

Earlier this week, “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay threw fans into a frenzy when she posted a steamy behind-the-scenes pic with former co-star, Chris Meloni. Meloni starred as Detective Elliot Stabler on “SVU” for 12 years before leaving the show. He and Harigtay’s character, Olivia Benson, developed a lot of sexual tension during that time.

Now, Meloni heads up his own spin-off show, “Law & Order: Organized Crime.” He and Hargitay recently started filming a few crossover episodes between their respective shows, causing some fans to wonder whether the romance they’d always dreamed of might actually happen. Meloni and Hargitay helped fan the flames of those dreams when they each posted behind-the-scenes pics while filming.

Meloni started off by posting this thirsty pic on Twitter earlier this week. With the caption, “#rehearsing.” Cue fans screaming, both externally and internally.

Then, Harigtay followed it up with a steamy pic of her own on Instagram. In this one, she captioned it with several revealing hashtags. “#SetLife  #SetLove  #23Years  #PFL  #ItsAllHappeningBaby  #WhatsInTheLetter  #BTS  #PeacefulEasyFeeling #WorkSmirk #GeeYourHairSmellsTerrific.”

But the real twist came when NBS’s official Instagram page commented on the post, “Bensler stans, it’s our time to shine.”

“Bensler” is the mashed-up name for Benson and Stabler, representing their (potential) romantic relationship. Either NBC is being seriously cruel, or they’re seriously suggesting that Benson and Stabler could get together this season (in one show or another).

Either way, we’ll find out when Season 23 of “Law & Order: SVU” premieres on Thursday, Sept. 23. Directly following it will be Season 2 of “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”
