Actress Ellen Burstyn has appeared on “Law & Order: SVU” and its spin-off “Organized Crime.” She’s also secured the “Triple Crown of Acting.”

What does that mean for an actress? It means Burstyn has won Oscar, Emmy, and Tony awards throughout her illustrious career. She won two Emmy Awards, one in 2009 for “Law & Order: SVU” and another in 2013 for “Political Animals.”

So, what about the Oscar and Tony? Well, Burstyn won her Oscar in 1975 for Best Actress in “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.” Actually, that was a very good year for her as she also won the Tony for Best Actress in a Play for “Same Time, Next Year.”

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Was Where Actress Secured One of Two Emmy Awards

There you go. The “Law & Order: SVU” actress has secured three major acting honors throughout her career. As for Triple Crown nominations, Ellen Burstyn has eight Emmy nominations, six Oscar nominations, and one Tony nomination. She’s been quite a recognized actress for her body of work.

Burstyn had her big break in 1971’s “The Last Picture Show,” which gave her Golden Globe and Oscar nominations.

She will be returning again to the “Law & Order” franchise. Burstyn will play Bernadette Stabler, the mother of Elliot Stabler [Christopher Meloni], on “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”

Now she played Elliot’s mother on “SVU” back in 2009. So she’s coming back, though, on another “Law & Order” spin-off. Her appearance on “Organized Crime” will be later in the show’s second season on NBC.

Show Writer Offered A Little Tidbit To Twitter Fans About Stabler, Benson

“Law & Order” fans have been watching the chemistry between Oliva Benson and Elliot Stabler for many years. Will their paths cross this season? “Law & Order: SVU” writer Julie Martin offered a little tidbit for fans to chew on right now. They are anxiously awaiting what will happen in both shows.

Martin wrote in a recent Tweet that Benson and Stabler are due for a “talk.”

“Don’t twitch, attention will be paid to Benson and Stabler,” Martin wrote. “They have a lot to talk about in Season 23.

That tweet came in response to others on Twitter asking Martin what to expect ahead of the 23rd season premiere of “Law & Order: SVU.”

Hargitay has been with “Law & Order: SVU” since its first season. Ice-T, who plays Odafin “Fin” Tutuola, has been on since the show’s second season. They are the senior cast members of the Dick Wolf-created show.

“Law & Order: Organized Crime” does star Meloni as we’ve pointed out. But he’s got a solid actor to play off of in the show with Dylan McDermott on there. McDermott plays mob boss Richard Wheatley and he will be back in a guest-starring role this season.
