When it comes to speaking your mind, no one does it better than Law & Order: SVU star Ice-T. The rapper-turned-actor shared another “ICE COLD Fact” with fans today.

As Fin Tutuola, Ice-T plays a street-wise detective. His wit and quips can come off dry and matter-of-factly. However, Tutuola has about half the in-your-face attitude that the actor has in real life. Fans are always happy to read and hear what he has to say and that was no different with his latest Instagram post. Check it out below.

The text post said, “The funny thing about getting older: Your eyesight gets weaker but your ability to see through people’s bullshit gets much better.” Like I said, matter-of-fact, in your face, and never afraid to say what is on his mind. That’s why Ice-T has had such a long and successful career. He is always going to be himself.

One of the best parts about Fin on Law & Order: SVU is when he breaks things down for the team. Sometimes the younger trends and things go right over the heads of others. So, if there is a local rapper, a street-tough kid, or a similar situation, Tutuola is going to be the one to turn to.

Each cast member has a special role in the show. While most folks think of Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler, that isn’t solely what makes the show work. Ice-T isn’t afraid to share his knowledge and wisdom with whoever. On the set, he keeps cool and focused and talks rationally about situations. In fact, his rants and monologues draw crowds from the cast and crew of Law & Order: SVU to hear what he has to say. It’s even earned him a nickname.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Ice-T Known as ‘Philosopher King’

The cast and crew have dubbed Ice-T the “Philosopher King” on the set. He takes his time to break things down so that all can understand. But, he doesn’t sugarcoat things. After all, he is Ice-T. Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay talked about her costar’s wisdom and the nickname he has earned.

“He goes on his philosopher rants,” she said. “Everyone gathers around because the way he breaks everything down is clear and simple. He takes all the complex and whiny stuff out of it, like, ‘Here’s the deal.’ And in 19 years, I’ve never seen him in a bad mood or raise his voice.”

That sounds like what you could expect. For Ice-T, he’s just about done it all. He had a successful music career, was able to move out of his circumstances in south-central Los Angeles, and is now a beloved TV character as well. Law & Order: SVU just wouldn’t be the same without him.
