Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay has been hospitalized after suffering from multiple serious leg injuries.
On Wednesday afternoon, Mariska Hargitay took to social media to share a picture of her leaving New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery. The actress sports a large brace on her right leg that stretches from her thigh to her mid-calf. On the left, an ankle brace is also visible.
Mariska Hargitay explained her recent diagnosis with worried fans.
“#ThatFeelingWhen, you go to the doctor, get an MRI and find out that you have a broken knee, a hairline fracture in your ankle, and a torn ligament. It’s always a good idea to go to the doctor. Immediately. #ListenToYourBody #TrustTheExperts#StayStrong #InOtherKneeNews#BustingPerpsWithBustedKnees#BraceYourself #NotTheBeesKnees#TheQueenBeesKnees Great news is I don’t need surgery🙏🏻 💃🏻.”
Sending Love to Mariska Hargitay
The 57-year-old Law & Order: Special Victim Unit star is proving to be just as strong as Olivia Benson, the character on the show. However, Hargitay did not share how she sustained the serious injuries.
With over two million dedicated fans on Instagram, many have flooded the post with well wishes for Mariska Hargitay’s recovery.
“I know what that feeling is … I wish you a speedy recovery 🙌, “ wrote one user.
Another fan noted how good the actress looks after just leaving the hospital.
“Apparently, HSS actually stands for Hair & Shining Skin. Dude! You’re the only person I know who can walk out of that hospital looking like they just stepped out of a commercial 💃🏼🔥 #cantstopher#strongereveryday.”
Others obviously agree, saying, “Nobody could ever look this good walking out of a hospital!! Absolute warrior Goddess! 💙🧡💜 Feel better M!!”
‘Law & Order: SVU’
The silver lining is that Law & Order: SVU has likely wrapped up filming for Season 22, which currently only has three episodes left in the season. Pop Culture notes that the season finale will air on June 3rd. It’s unclear when the show will resume filming for the upcoming season or if they will postpone it while Mariska Hargitay recovers.
It may be a bit difficult fighting crime and chasing bad guys with both of your legs wrapped up. We will have to see that is instore for our beloved Olivia Benson
