‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Mariska Hargitay Defends Fellow Co-Star from Online Bullying
Earlier this month, several fans took to social media to bash one of the former “Law & Order: SVU” stars.
Isabel Gillies played Elliot Stabler’s wife, Kathy Stabler, on the show sporadically from 1999 to 2011. She reappeared on Christopher Meloni’s spin-off show “Law & Order: Organzaed Crime” but was killed off early in Season 1.
Now, during Season 2, fans found out that she wrote a letter to Mariska Hargitay’s character Olivia Benson. Suddenly, fans who found out about the contents of the letter grew angry and took their anger out on Gillies, who didn’t even appear in Season 2.
Hargitay quickly took to Twitter to support her friend and co-star. “I’m so sorry that you had to go through any of this sweet Isabel. #WordsMatter #Think,” Hargitay initially tweeted.
She soon followed up with, “You ask if we can stop and think. You’re evidence that we can do both. You also answer to the question ‘Can we write? Can we use words intelligently enough to disrupt the noise?’ You can Isabel Gillies. And you do. You’re important and you have all my love.”
No one messes with Mariska Hargitay’s friends and gets off scot-free.
