“#ThatFeelingWhen, you go to the doctor, get an MRI and find out that you have a broken knee, a hairline fracture in your ankle, and a torn ligament. It’s always a good idea to go to the doctor. Immediately.” the actress said in an Instagram post.
“Great news is I don’t need surgery,” she continued. She also assured SVU fans that this wasn’t a show-related injury.
“Thanks for all the love folks! Just so you know this did not happen at work!”
Comments on her post reflect just how much support the Law & Order: SVU star has. From fans to co-workers to friends, Hargitay received an outpouring of love.
“What!?!?” salon owner Mara Rosak said, “You are such a trooper.”
Nutrition coach Adam Rosante also chimed in. “Apparently HSS actually stands for Hair & Shining Skin. Dude! You’re the only person I know who can walk out of that hospital looking like they just stepped out of a commercial,” he said.
How Hargitay’s Injuries will Impact ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Filming
Season 22 of Law & Order: SVU only has three episodes left and has wrapped filming, so fans don’t have to expect any delays when it comes to the upcoming finale. However, filming for season 23 was slated to begin this summer, but with Hargitay’s extensive injury, it may be delayed.
Hopefully, the star makes a quick recovery, but most fans would say it’s better for the star to recover than to suffer while filming. They could potentially film Law & Order: SVU around her injury, not filming action shots and making sure that the character doesn’t do anything too strenuous that can’t be easily covered by a stunt double. If people could film around covid, they could likely film around a broken leg.
Even if SVU gets delayed, fans of Law & Order: SVU will still have a lot to keep them entertained. The Law & Order franchise is still going strong after decades on air. In fact, a new show, Law & Order: For the Defense has officially been ordered by NBC. The show will follow the other side of the criminal justice system: a team of defense lawyers. Law & Order: Organized Crime has also been renewed for a second season.
Whatever the production team of Law & Order: SVU decides when it comes to filming, Hargitay clearly has a bunch of support and will hopefully get better soon.
